Please don't trade Gallo to the Raptors guys, he deserves better than that.

I can't think of a single package from the Raptors that I would accept for Galinari.

Open this up.

Just kidding. But Galo was awfully bad last night. Gay made him his bitch.

I still believe in Gallo. He's not a fringe All-Star or anything but he can be a 17.5 PER with good size.

He attacks the rim and doesn't turn it over. He's big and tries hard on D.

I think right now he's just having to create too much off the dribble. If he could pick his spots as a slasher more. I also think the same thing would help his shot. When he was shooting less than 4 3PA he was shooting 37%. He's suffering a lot from the poor team spacing.

But they have to choose between Gallo and Iggy. They can't play together.

As an italian im a bit disappointed with danilo.. To me it feels like he could do more, especially offensively. Sometimes looks like he is not trying enough, and he is content with being a facilitator. I'd like to see him score more and with more consistency.. He could be a 20 points guy, but he has been inconsistent..

I don't agree with the 20 ppg guy, I don't think he needs to score that much.

Best case would be that he becomes an SF version of a Manu for us, but that's looking doubtful now since he takes too many bad jumpshots to be a good shooter and lacks aggression a lot of times.

At this stage he's becoming the next Hedo Turkoglu, which is okay but it's sorta disappointing since you expect more.

I expect more, and I say give him more time... as a knick fan I watched this kid from day one, one of my favorite players, I like the passion he plays with and he has a lot of skill.. He has to be more consistent and realize that he can do more on the court..

when you see outburst like the 39 point game, you are like, dude, you should have games like this every 4-5 games..

I think that Gallinari can develop in a Ginobili kind of player, even if with different features. They have both a peculiar mentality, different from an US player, because they are of European school (yes, Ginobili too: he developed as a player in Europe).
American all star is something different. Melo is an all star (but he hasn't won anything so far), Lebron is an all star (but he won only last year after a long waiting). Being an all star caliber player doesn't mean necessarily to win. Ginobili is not an all star and he won a lot. He is an essential player, or better, a Quintessential player. He is precious in a winning team, in a championship team, beside to an all star caliber player (Duncan, Parker...). This kind of players are rare and priceless. Maybe they are more hard to find then an all star: giving to the team what the team needs, without pretending to shine under the spotlight, that is not for all of them.
Often this kind of players are of European school, where the team counts more then the player and the statistics. Gasol for the winning Lakers? Or, back in time, Tony Kukoc for the Jordan's Bulls? Being decisive, from behind the front line.
Gallo could develop in this kind of player IMHO. But in Denver, with a lacking of all stars, he is called to play a role that is not his role, that he can play only some of the games (like yesterday), but not on every single night: that is beyond him. I could be wrong, and I would be happy of that. But I think to be right, knowing him since a long ago.
He could give, instead, a great boost to a border championship team, even as 6th man.

That's the problem, he should but...

I agree with MagnusPinus, I'm a huge Gallo fan but he's not aggressive at all, he's in a facilitator state and his percentages show that you can't rely on his shot.

Personally I like Gallo but I don't think he will ever be a superstar, more like a poor mans taller Ginobli that is best served as a 2nd or 3rd option where he can create and get wide open outside shots. He has more talent then that, he could be a multi time all star, but he just does not seem to have the mentality to do it. I think he can be an important piece on the right team, but I don't really think he will ever be more then a borderline all star.

Really good post. I agree for the most part.

Without a superstar you need a lot of talent that plays really well together.

I'm a buy low sell high type... and the coach in me remembers Beasley at K-State and just can't let that go. Would it be crazy to try and take on a project like Beasley?

Do you mean trading Gallo for Beasley? This guy is not a project, he's done...

Not crazy. It would be just stupid. He sucked everywhere he went. He can't play even in miserable Phoenix.

But of course. He would be great addition to Masai's collection of lowest bball IQ players... JaVale, Brewer and Randolph. Let's make it happen.

No I'm not really on the trade gallo bandwagon at all. But there is talk of him being moved... to memphis among other places. Not saying in a big multi team deal that gallo couldnt be involved. But again I still like gallo.

I don't think beasley is done. that would imply he is about to wash out of the NBA. That's not happening. I just see a situation in Denver where he could just blend in a lot better. PHX needed him to be the man and that just hasn't worked out at all obviously. I figured maybe we take Beasley, Wes, and Brown back and they get Mozgov, Brewer, Fournier, and Q Miller. They get two young prospects and shorter deals back toss in our 2nd rounder or something. Might be an alternative to taking on Rudy Gay's contract. Memphis doesn't seem to think he adds enough to what they got to justify that salary.

Gallo has shown more in his NBA career than Beasley. Beasley has only ever put up good numbers by chucking his brains out. Gallo might have his own problems, and lack Beasleys athleticism, but he can do far more and isn't hated by his teammates.

I agree, Beasley isn't even a project at this point. He offers nothing over Gallo except potential for drama.

Hello TKF,
nice to meet you again!
I was a devoted reader of your after-game comments, when Gallo played for the Knicks, I enjoyed it and we had some talks at that time.

I always follow my favorite Italian player, so now I watch every single Nuggets game, a nice team to watch. I see that your are even now a Gallo's fan. And what about NY? Sometimes I take a look at the NY Real GM forum, but you are disappeared... Am I wrong?

hey thanks.... and yea, I don't post on that forum much anymore.... I have not accepted carmelo as my lord and savior, therefore I am hated.... :D

anyway back on topic I can't believe the talk of wanting beasley here.. I said this before, he is another mental midget, the nuggs already have a challenged player in Mcgee.. don't need two... gallo will be fine, I am more worried about iggy.... all gallo needs to be is more consistent... he has the ability to be a 18/8/4 player.. to me, that would be fantastic.. denver has players that can score, they just need them all to play well together consistently , sort of the way the rockets do with all of their pieces now..
