He hopes to return in March. Mid-March would mean about the last 20 games of the season.
combined with a fully-healthy Rubio and shooting-improved Love means a 20-0 finish!
It will probably take him 20 games to get back in game shape. That just means 16-0 in the post season, though.

Come to think of it, I remember him being much more of a game changer than last year. Also, although I'm not totally sure about that, it feels like he has won or brought us back into much more games than he helped the other team with errand shots and turnovers.
It's amazing how much better someone can play when they're healthy...

Re: Wolves vs. Denver Jan 03
Defensively, Love was always questionable and we've been saying he's a liability on that end of the court.
This year, he's been bad on both sides of the court, so obviously when you have someone playing like trash -- you're going to be a better team once you sweep that junk off the court.
I say we give Love some time to heal and recover; playing through inuries only increases the chances of another, as we are seeing with Love this season.
Dante and D-Will can hold down the fort for now, it feels like they are doing a much better job at time at PF since Love wants to camp out at 3 all day. Dante's mid-range is automatic and D-Will is consistently attacking the rim(His finishes still leave a lot to be a desired)
Losing Love mentally or to another injury isn't worth it in March-April when we're going to need our star the most.

The comments on the Wolves' facebook page are hilarious. "Love sucks! Let's release Kevin Love! JJ Barea is way better than Love. JJ Barea needs to start over Rubio! Wolves are way better without Love. Love needs to shut up and focus on playing." blah blah blah.
He's in a slump and is having trouble battling injuries, not to mention having to battle lack of respect from the officials.

Next game it will be "JJ sucks, he's nothing but a chucker", "trade JJ for a bag of chips", "Luke is way better than Barea", Barea couldn't run an offense if his life depended on it".

You can't honestly believe that. he's got one of the highest FTA rates in the league. If anything, it's Love that doesn't respect the officials, not vice versa.

This, Love gets a lot of respect from the refs. He is obviously in the biggest slump of his career, and it is obviously messing with his head. What he needs to realize that he needs to put his energy into the defensive end. I could live with poor shooting if he didn't play such poor defense.

Re: Wolves vs. Denver Jan 03
I think Love needs to cut his shooting attempts by half, need to stop thinking the team needs his scoring so badly (get rid of the superstar mentality). Specially the pick & pop from 3. Everytime he start a pick & roll play - he almost never rolls to the basket, and instead he stay in the 3 point line. Also, he needs to stop pump-faking that 3, speacially if hes never going to drive to the basket. He's doing as good as ever grabbing rebounds...defense still sucks

Adelman disagrees.
"He can't get unaggressive," Adelman said of Love. "He's got to take his shots. He's got to continue to play. I thought a couple games there he was backing away from shots, not quite sure what to do. He's done it his whole life, made shots. He just has to stay with it and we just have to keep going to him."

Don't agree with the first sentence you posted, but I agree with the above.
Everytime he pump fakes that 3 and the defender doesn't bite, he always goes ahead and shoots it, and it's a contested shot by then. If fans can see it coming, then you know NBA players see it coming, too.
Maybe if he'd roll a little more on pick and rolls, he'd get some easy baskets as opponents anticipate the pop, and he'd eventually have more open looks from deep.

Re: Wolves vs. Denver Jan 03
Love is in the game to make shots, get passed the ball and shoot, he should always take the most shots on the team, even if he isnt scoring efficiently. I do think he should take more 15 foot shots and inside shots in the post though, instead of playing on the perimeter as much as he is.

Agreed.
This year 30.7% of his shots are 3 pointers
Last year 26.4% of his shots were 3 pointers
