Love re-fractures third metacarpal

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that an MRI taken this afternoon at TRIA Orthopadedic Center revealed that forward Kevin Love suffered a re-fracture of his third metacarpal in his right hand. The injury occurred during the third quarter of Thursday's game at Denver.

Love will be examined by Dr. Andy Weiland, a hand specialist at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, later this week. An update to Love’s status will be provided after that examination.

Love initially suffered a fracture of his third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand on Oct. 17. For the season, Love has played in 18 games and leads the Wolves in scoring (18.3 ppg), rebounds (14.0 rpg) and double-doubles (14).

Well..... damn. This time sit and rest until you are HEALTHY

Not as sad as I should be over this. He needed some time off. Hopefully he gets in better shape during this time off and prepares for the end of the season. We just need Rubio to start getting healthy. It will be interesting to see if this really starts triggering trade talk to maintain while he is out.

Tank this **** season. Let Ricky rest another month or so. We're not making the playoffs.

My only concern is Steamer is going to see regular PT now which is gross.

The season is a hot mess. Just ravaged by these injuries. Also the medical staff probably brought him back too soon so this doesn't reflect too well on them.

He'll be out for 6 weeks. The season will be over by the time he gets back in shape or not

If we play to win the rest of the season, we're going to end with 38 and the 14th pick. TANK.

The last game of the season is 4/17. There is definitely time to get back in shape even if he took the full 8 weeks off, like he should.

Season is over pretty much, the West is too hard.

Time to trade Derrick, Roy, Barea or Ridnour and the 1st pcik of 2013, try to bring a good SG in.

its a long season, like someone said, the thing i dislike most is more Steamer playing... i cant watch that guy.
I think we need some trades, lets hope Ricky comes back soon, and get at full strenght between a month or so, nothing is lost yet.

I dont want to tank.... but yes I want +30minpg for Derrick Williams, just see the guy develop.

If he does well, maybe you can trade him and get a SG.

There's no need to hit the panic button (someone would most likely get injured while doing so, anyway). Obviously this loss is bad but considering how well this team seems to play without Love I think we can weather the storm for a while. Yes, it sucks and I feel really bad for Love but we have some depth at the power forward slot. This also means that Williams gets more playing time and we can evaluate if he can keep up his recent level of play for extended minutes.

It just sucks that this means AK will need to play at least as many minutes for an extended period of time. This can't be good.

This medical staff needs to be seriously evaluated. The amount of injuries we have had the past few years has been pathetic. Didn't Brewer mess up both his knees. Rubio messes up knee. Big Al, knee. Love, hands. Budinger, knee. Howard, knee. Lee, knee. Anyone else I'm missing. We are looking almost as bad as the Blazers.
