If we could give them a full salary dump for Rip so they don't have to pay lux tax I'm sure they'd throw in a first rounder, but we'd have to get a 3rd team involved since we don't have the unguaranteed deals or cap space to make it happen ourselves.

Rip will be 35 next month, and Chicago never, ever, pays the tax... possible.

Pacers are waiving Sam Young. He's a lockdown defender but not much offensively outside of baseline jumpers. Worth taking a look at imo, but there are better options out there

From the Twitterverse:

Roster Move: #Twolves today waived F Lazar Hayward. Roster now stands at 14. Hayward signed as free agent on Dec 31 appeared in 2 games.

Hopefully we start looking at a permanent solution, but I feel like we're looking at Gelabale for a 20 day in a couple of days.

His contract would'v become guaranteed for the rest of the season tomorrow. This was expected.

A lot of people got waived today around the league. I would love for us to look at a developmental player like a Malcolm Lee who could play the 2 and be counted on to have young fresh legs night after night.

“@DarrenWolfson: I'm told the #Twolves have kicked the tires on free agent Sam Young (out currently w/ an ankle injury), but don't bet on him landing here.”

“@DarrenWolfson: Dominic McGuire is not an option for the #Twolves. Just was told that he signed with the #Pacers this morning.”

Dominic McGuire is not an option for the #Twolves. Just was told that he signed with the #Pacers this morning.

Haven't heard anyone mention Gary Flowers he's a 6'8 wing and his shot has been falling for the defenders.

Probably, although they could use another SF to provide some relief to AK47 anyway.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Two new names from the recent rash of NBA news both from the WT:

-Casspi wants out of Cleveland. Seems like an Adelman type. This is me assuming he can play at the 3 of course. Maybe he could be part of the larger Varejao deal being kicked around?

-Darius Johnson-Odom got cut by the Lakers. He is a rookie two guard who can straight up stroke. He is undersized, but he is a scorer. I think he might be a nice rookie piece. Hard to find a lot of SG minutes with LAL, but he was looking nice in the D-League, at least for a stretch.

*DJO got cut so Lakers could add a big body with Hill, Dwight, Pau out. Good chance he ends up back there if no one offers him a deal.

Or maybe, just maybe, they can keep AK at the 3 and actually play Derrick Williams 30+ minutes per game. It's just crazy enough to work.

I'm excited to see Rubio and Williams play big minutes together with Love out.

I like it. Give me Dwill. I think we saw a flicker against POR. Lets see what he can do with a few minutes right now.
