I really liked Green's defense on Carmelo, too; I thought it was much more impressive than his offensive which I thought was pretty typical for him — he just happened to have Steve Novak guarding him much of the night.

The majority of the time it becomes a pissing contest and we loose focus on the TEAM.

3 wins in a row. First win against the best defense in the league, 2nd/3rd win over top 3 teams in the East. All done as a team

The guys are finally within their defined roles and our man/team defense has really picked up

I love our TEAM right now

I agree with that. It's nice homage to Red, but the Celtics are all about team.

Love how the team is clicking. It is really time to make hay with this homestand upcoming.

Pierce got in foul trouble early and Green came in and attacked, played defense and grabbed rebounds. We didn't miss a beat with Pierce off. He also made it his mission to attack Novak at every opportunity which led to his benching which helped us down the stretch (we could've gone at him defensively, but offensively he is a great shooter). That's what Green is getting paid to do! Now it would be even better if he can keep it up.

What was most impressive about Green's performance was that he did it on a big stage. On the road at MSG? Doesn't get much bigger than that. Gives me confidence that he'll be able to do it in the playoffs.

That's were Melo started to get nervous, then KG went for the dagger... 8-)

I think we match up pretty poorly with the Bulls...

The Bulls aren't beating the Celtics in a seven-game series. They just don't have the firepower.

Just want to give you guys kudos on the win. Every year people say the Cs are done, but legends never lose their hunger. And it's amazing how contagious it is with your young guys.

Also, whenever I start to feel glad for hapless Knicks fans, something like this happens, they wish injury on others, and they reveal themselves to be a bunch of clowns yet again. I really hope they get knocked out in the first round.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Mine too!

He took up the slack for Pierce when the captain got in foul trouble and changed that game around!

I have to say that when Pierce and KG retire, Green could well become a team leader!

It has to be much harder to replace a legend than it is to be one.

They lack the firepower for the heat, not the celtics. All those second chance points noah will be giving them will more than make up for it. They'll be a tough out for our team unless we're clicking on all cylinders offensively. Thibs doesn't believe in resting his guys so maybe they won't even be a factor though and will have dead legs for the playoffs, minus rose.

Noah can beat you one game. He can't do it over the course of a seven-game series. I think over the course of a long, drawn out series like that, the Celtics' overall talent and depth would be too much for Chicago.

Having been apart of starting the Victory Cigar I will again state that it was never intended to be a player of the game award that it morphed into so that people could champion their binky. It was supposed to be about the play or player that was key to the win to kind of kick off the post game thread. At the time we had 3 studs and a bunch of roll players and it was really more about them than KG. Pierce, and Ray. I agree the player of the game pissing contest is stupid.
