Novak is also suffering from Felton being hurt because he is really the only PG on the roster who can penetrate (Kidd and Prigioni have lost steps and just can't penetrate consistently anymore). Novak hit his shots last night but he really needs to work on his defense and on a consistent move to free himself up for his jumpshot.

its interesting to note that he is averaging 6 minutes more than last year but shooting less. he needs more touches. woody should run more plays for him

But there's no point in trading him because we're on a 3 year plan regardless. Unless a great deal comes along...

How much do top 5 3pt shooters makes on average?

kyle korver makes about the same. a little more

Then they're both overpaid. Novak is a near league minimum type of player. If he wasn't on the team, Copeland would fill his role just fine

Lol no. Set him some screens and actually pass him the ball instead. He should be shooting 10 shots per game. That's a better idea.

I dont think there are too many league minimum players who are in the top 5 in 3pt shooting.

It's a skill that teams has historically paid decent money for.

And no, Copeland cannot fill Novaks role.

to Be honest I felt there were a hundred times I wanted Felton to pass the ball to Novak standing in the corner in penetration but he never did. There were those games with melo out Novak rarely get a few shots. I felt melo-novak had more connection than Felton-Novak. But that's just my overall impression.

Remember Shawne Williams? The same was said about him. Daequan Cook was recently waived, he's another guy. Spot up shooters are plenty and easy to find.

Perfect thread 10/10

Also, can I add that he's only a 3 point shooter but:

1) Can't create his own shot
2) If the Knicks are down 3 points with 1 minute left in the game, we can't go to him to comeback in the game. He doesnt do buzzer beaters. I'm not even sure you can say he's clutch.
3) He's not fit for playoffs.

LOL, yeah, because they are in the same universe as Novak in regards of three point shooting. Copeland too, of course. Or Eddy Curry, Let's sign Eddy Curry, he is still a 100% three point shooter.

This reply is flawed because you posted videos BEFORE he became popular. 2 out of 3 your videos links was when he wasnt even a Knick. The scouting report is out on him and teams know how to stop him.

Yes, because before he became a regular rotation player, teams didn't know how to defend a slow 3 point specialist. Novak made it hard for every specialist in the league....right?

Oh so you mean that his guy is gonna stick to him like glue and not go and double team or help against Melo? Sounds good to me.

I'd say you first post is incredibly flawed then, since you said he wasn't clutch or couldn't hit buzzer beaters.

Oh and you mean that his man will stick to him like glue and won't leave him to go double team or help against Melo? Sounds good to me.

The Celtics completely abused Novak with his defense. Green scored on him at will.

Teams are going to go at Novak every-time he's on the court and that's something Woodson will have to respond to.

How about trying a zone when Novak is in? We need someway to hide him.

As for Novak being overpaid - Novak has a declining contract, which is an asset. I don't think he's overpaid by much if at all. I think he could be a good trading chip down the road.

PMS is spreading a ton of bitching because we dont win every game, make every shot and shut out every opponent and we're still not at full strength
