He'll be back in shape within a month, this isn't newsworthy.

This has to be involved with alcohol and plenty of it, which slows down metabolism and even makes recovery from injuries much slower.

the difference between the 95th and 5th percentile of people's metabolisms is only 600 calories. People always overestimate the impact of metabolism. He just has a poor diet and work ethic.

marijuana usage + lack of sleep + alcohol slows down metabolism.

B-b-b-but........HAVE YOU SEEN DERRICK ROSE??

Christ, the insecurity of Rose fans is hilarious.

Even their leg injuries are reason for some silly competition.

lol yeah it's insecurity because Rose is absolutely ripped with an ACL tear and Wall, who's clearly not as good, has a belly

Obviously we have many reasons to be insecure!

Wall isn't even a franchise player.....

^ Although your right in pretty much all your statements, the point is, there's no need for Rose fans to consistently kick Wall whenever he's down. You don't see Mavs fans coming in posting pictures of Dirk do you?

Where did you hear that marijuana usage slows down metabolism? I'm pretty sure all it would do is worsen cardiovascular health (if smoked) and stimulate appetite, both of which could indirectly cause weight gain and slow down metabolism if taken to the extreme. Marijuana raises the heart rate, which would actually speed up the metabolism a bit, if negligibly compared to an actual workout or a cup of coffee. If used responsibly, I'm pretty sure all marijuana would really do is worsen short term memory.

"If used responsibly..." You realize that a "responsible" use of marijuana is literally like one puff a day, right?

For those who say he doesn't look that bad -- he looks like an out of shape gym-rat from the YMCA, not just out of shape by NBA standards. Yes he'll probably be back to normal after a month of playing but that's 2x or 3x more than the "6-7 lbs".

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Pretty normal for athletes w injury. He'll lose it all from playing.

It's so normal that injured amateur athletes are commonly used as models for weight loss ads. Those before/-after pics.

Embiid is a young cat, his metabolic rate will be high as a kite, he will be fine once back to training/dieting.

Wall is "a bust"?

I think he was being sarcastic to the naysayers regarding Embiid's recent weight-gain.

 It's exactly analogous to the 'Joel Embiid is fat' thread currently on the front page, that's why I bumped it.
