And what about Rashard Lewis real life deal?
If the two year thing applies, I'd like to change my guys to two year deal's (the ones who I made official offers to, not the ones I bid on)
Rashard Lewis is being paid the vet min by Heat. So if they were to trade him, he'd count as $854k outgoing salary, or $884k in his second year.
The money he takes home - $1,352,181; then $1,399,507, is the $854k plus the $400k+ contribution from the league. If you look at the scale in the link I sent, it's all explained.
yes in the NBA, the teams can sign the player to a 2 year vet min (which has never been allowed here) but no matter how you wanna look at it,
this is a direct quote from section 83 of the CBA
Teams trading away minimum-salary players do count their salaries (the portion not paid by the league -- see question number 16) as outgoing salary when comparing salaries for trade.
so if you wanna pay the guy more on your roster page I guess no one can stop you, but if you wanna sign these guys simply to trade them, you gotta use the correct salary which is why we always have listed that 854,389 number (I know it increased this year, but not sur ethe number since the old number is fried in my brain)
