I love this deal. Not sure it's realistic because Favors is valued pretty high, but it's not far off.

Lowry
Redick (signed for the MLE)
Gay
A. Johnson
Valanciunas

Bench:
Selby (from MEM trade) or some other PG prospect
Anderson
Fields
Acy

How far would that team go? Obviously, it would all depend on Valanciunas' development, but I like the makeup of that starting 5. It has 3pt shooting with Lowry, Redick, go-to player in Rudy Gay, and two legit P'n'R options in Amir and Jonas. I think we'd be a difficult matchup for many NBA teams.

I don't disagree that the starting five would be dangerous you actually may want Feilds in at the two and redid I as your sixth man because that depth or second unit is pretty awful. Feilds would be more of a stopper and he would be able to help out in rebounding and getting other guys the ball. With reddish coming off the bench he would have the green light to shoot and come of screens or spot up from deep. The depth is pretty bad though you have to hope acy becomes Reggie immediately and the other guys learn to score. Anderson plays well every few games not that consistent to be the 6th man.

We NEED to find a way to make Tyreke Evans a Raptor this very year and preferably within the next 30 days. Windows of opportunity for efficient, fun to watch 23-year-old 2 guards with star upside don't come along very often and we just so happen to likely have the right mix of whatever it is Sacramento may be looking for.

Every other 2 guard that's younger or with more talent/upside is either not going anywhere, or was just traded (Harden). Shabazz may end up being a star 2 but even if we tanked there's not a great chance we land him anyway.

The last time I spotted something like this it ws when we traded Charlie V for TJ Ford. It was the strangest thing. I remember talking about how we should try to get Ford that summer from Milwaukee and gamble on his health not being a comcern and within 2 months we did, almost out of the blue. I keep posting about Evans for the same reason. Hopefully, it happens again out of the blue. Only this time... No debilitating injuries!

PG: Lowry
SG: Evans
SF: Gay
PF: AJ
C: JV

It is possible with a little luck. :P

I think we will get Gay and Bayless for something like Calderon , Kleiza , Ross , Acy and a second round pick . Then the question will be what can we get for Bargs .

In Evans case more time is better;
I think he can be had, but I would want to see him in our system before we paid him what he will likely get in July.

Not likely to happen, but I was just wondering what you guys think of this. A three way trade between Toronto, OKC and Dallas.

Toronto gets:
-Westbrook (from OKC)
-Carter (from Dallas)
-Jones (from Dallas)

OKC gets:
-Calderon (from Toronto)
-Mayo (from Dallas)
-Wright (from Dallas)
-James (from Dallas)

Dallas gets:
- DeRozan (from Toronto)
- Johnson (from Toronto)

It's a pretty bad trade for everyone other than Toronto. The Thunder are not gonna move Westbrook at this point in his career, especially if the return is only Calderon and Mayo. Dallas is getting a great year out of Mayo on a small contract. He's playing better than DeMar and while Johnson is a solid piece for any team, his contract is a couple years long, DeRozan's is high in $ and years. Pretty sure all the guys Dallas is moving are on one year deals which is the exact opposite of their plan right now. They're looking at making a big splash in free agency... DeRozan and Johnson aren't big enough game changers to make Cuban veer from that path

I'm not sure if OKC would be so reluctant to do that trade. They only give up Westbrook, who is their second best player, but who also hogs the ball a lot. Calderon is a pass first PG for Durant and Mayo is a good second option.

But I think Dallas are getting shafted, they would most likely say no to the trade.

Why would OKC do that deal?

Please explain without the Raptors bias.

Not only is a trade where we get Westbrook unlikely but Presti would have to be high on meth to give him up for Mayo. There is absolutely no chance OKC parts with Westbrook for anything less than another proven all-star/superstar in the league.

Raps get shafted. Throw in Durant to sweeten the deal.

Are there any restrictions to dealing DeMar DeRozan, given that he's signed a contract extension?

Yep. He has the poison pill status on his contract. It doesn't mean that he can't be traded, it just makes it harder to move him.

What does that mean? We have to take on more salary than his current ~3 mil. to make a deal happen?

I beleive you take an average salary from his contract. So even though his extension kicks in next summer you would do $38M contract + $3M this year / 5 years

Again, this is a guess. I don't want the RealGM gang to beat me up!

Edit: Isn't DeRozan a BYC player not a poison pill player?

Again, I am not too sure.

trade everyone for picks man. first round, 2nd round, 2013, 2014, 2015 whatever.

we should be going into next year with valanciunas, ross and a bunch of d-leaguers and rookies next year. we should aim to have the lowest payroll in the nba... the sort of team that overpays an aging scrub just to meet the minimum payroll. if, through the trades, we can dedicate a pick to bennett or kabongo that might be enough to get some people in the stands for next year and then the year after we hopefully would have wiggins or parker.
