Who Doesn't Want Rudy Gay to Close Games Now?

Post#1 » by sweetcity » Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:05 am

I was actually totally against the Rudy Gay rumors. My argument was why do we need Rudy when DeMar has the same PER and makes $7 million less.

After watching tonight's game, I'm 100% convinced we need to make a move. This team is without a closer and will never ever go anywhere without someone that is not afraid to take shots in the clutch.

No we don't need a treadmill move, it's obvious a total rebuild is what's needed.

It's not that he won't make the team better because he will. The issue which has been brought up time and time again is that HE IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.

Raps have overpaid every single player it signed from FA, this will not be any different.

Rudy Gay won't lead us to the playoffs so why does it matter?? and have you seen what Memphis wants for Gay lol they want more from us than what OKC wanted for Harden  they badly overpaid him now they have to live with it

I'm all for it they can get Jose's expiring, and absorb Bargnani or DeRozan.

Let's not dig ourselves into a bigger hole. The plan is to tank anyways so we need to be even worse next year.

I don't necessarily care if it's Rudy in particular but this team needs an upgrade in talent.

Plain and simple.

All the people crying about contracts, please give it a rest....the reality is no one is going to trade us a player unless they are slightly over priced and if we're not using that cap on some solid talent Colangelo will instead blow it on average to below average talent (ie/ Fields, DeRozan etc).

At this point we're forced to pick our poison and I will take big contracts on players like Gay, Gordon, Tyreke etc you actually have a semeblence of talent than waste it on garbage players who are inconsisent, soft but hey they're nice guys.

I'm praying we can flip some of our players over for guys like Gordon, Evans or Gay.

Is it means up giving up one of Ross/Val/Amir; Memphis can shove it; because Rudy gay isnt worth that much and he isnt that much better than Derozan as I say time and time again. As well Rudy gay wont be our savior either

I was always for Rudy Gay as long as what we are giving up is right. I am ok with a combo or either of these players, Jose, DeMar, Fields, Andrea and just because he is probably valued by other teams Ed Davis. That is it other than of course scrubs like Gray or whatever.

Andrea is actually probably the last of those guys I'd want to give up in a Rudy Gay deal. I think he would bring some shooting to the lineup and open things up for Rudy in the lane. Also, he would probably be much more efficient playing off of Rudy as the no.2 option.

Oh yes, this franchise does not understand a full rebuild. It has to blow up. Everyone must go except Ed, Ross, Amir, Lowry and Val.

I'm actually all for tanking next year to get Wiggins.

My wishful play for this year and next year

1) Give the pick to OKC in a weak draft (hope they draft a bust)
2) fire BC
3) give Casey one more year ( for tanking purposes )
4) Trade for another pick
5) get rid of Jose and Bargs

TANK HARD NEXT YEAR with a new GM

Rudy plays the same position as our future Wiggins..BC needs to blow up the team and collect as many picks as he can

No thanks. Not for what they are asking... Ross and Val for Gay? Lol...

Jose + Barg's but that's it, or Kleiza.

No. He's too expensive. We need the cap space for Demar, Fields, Kleiza and a re-signed Calderon.

And throw in a maxed out Ed Davis. Thank god we don't have good players getting overpaid. It's much better to have TRASH players getting overpaid.
