I do like it, I must be the only one who thinks a Dragic/ Ellis backcourt could work.

Defensively, Ellis is a small SG (better suited to guarding PGs) while Dragic is more a combo guard, too slow and big to guard PGs.

Offensively, I'm not sold on Dragic creating and running an offense full time yet and I think Monta's dynamicness and ball handling ability (2 things this team sorely lacks) would take the pressure of Goran enough for him to be much more effective and efficient offensively.

Having a scoring (two way) centre like Gortat is a luxury we don't require right now when all our PFs are offensive minded as well and suck on D. I have no problem letting our PF rotation of Scola/ Morris/ Beasley get more offensive opportunity as long as we complement them with defensive minded C's. Otherwise, we end up with a whole bunch of bigs that all want to score but with little D between them.

God damn...I cannot imagine the hell that will break loose if we acquire Ellis to play with Brown and Beasley.

Brewhoop mentioned sending Jennings with one of Ilyasova, Gooden, Dalembert, or Udrih to Phoenix for Gortat and Dragic.

Gortat is a big body that would provide a post-oriented meat-and-potatoes option to pair with the Bucks' current collection of string bean forwards. Jennings is a 23-year-old lead guard who would fit into the Suns' rebuilding project. The only problem is that Phoenix already has a point guard in Goran Dragic. The idea is that the Bucks could send Jennings out with some other high-salary option (Ersan Ilyasova, Drew Gooden, Samuel Dalembert, Beno Udrih) in exchange for Gortat and Dragic -- who is in the first year of a four-year, $30 million deal he signed with the Suns during the off-season. Feel free to play around with the trade machine and see if you find any combinations that excite you.

Everyone knows that i LOVE Jennings. I would take Jennings/Dalembert/1st for Dragic/Gortat.

I agree. But it is just a rumor.

Any deal with the Bucks would have to include Doron Lamb, of course...

Sign the lesser Dragic too and we could have Goran, Zoran and Doron!

The next few days would be the best time for the Suns to make a trade. New coach coming in, 5 days until the next game, and the fans are all waiting for a move to make this team younger and ready to be developed.

Suns are at rock bottom of the West and a move can only soft the blow to the season being a failure. The more young players the Suns can get the better chance they have to "shorten" the rebuilding period.

Ugh...

The reason we haven't made a move yet is that you can't just trade for any young guy. It has to be the right young guy. And those aren't always available.

Side note, I do think Bledsoe is ready to lead a team, I don't think our FO is ready to give up on the Dragic experiment this quickly though. Nor would the Clips want to pay a backup to CP3 $7.5M/yr when they are about to pony up the big bucks for him.

Suns have 3 pieces in Dragic, Dudley and Gortat.

They can likely get a top 20 pick for each, they can literally field a team of rookies as starters...

Clean slate as they come...
Gortat - Prospect, Expiring and a top 15 pick
Dudley - top 20 pick + prospect
Dragic - top 20 pick + prospect

Prospects I like
- Bledsoe
- Sullinger
- Burks
- Bradley
- J.Lamb

If Oklahoma doesn't take home the title this year and the Raptors pick ends up being a lottery pick I could see the Suns trading Gortat on draft day for Lamb/Jones & the pick that could end up being a prospect big.

I don't know if that's a good idea. You need some vets, or else you'll end up with a bunch of rookies who don't really know how to play just reinforcing their own bad habits. You also need a lockerroom leader. It's one of the reasons I really wish Grant was still herel.
