Jrue Holiday revisited

Post#1 » by KrazySixersD » Sat Jan 19, 2013 5:12 am

So, there was a thread on holiday not to long ago about if he deserved to be an all star, and what his ceiling was... There were some guys in there that were saying hes not even better than a kyle lowery...

well, jrue is now averaging 19.3 ppg and 9 assists per game, and he just got finished DESTROYING kyle lowery.. scoring our last 14 points in a row to come back and win

its unbelievable how bad everyone outside of jrue and thad are playing.. missed open shots after missed open shots... absolutely zero post game... no defensive players besides holiday himself.. whenever he leaves the court we cant do anything

hes a 1 man team right now and honestly anyone who says this kid doesnt deserve the all star game or that he isnt one of the top PG's in the league is just not watching any of his games... ill leave with these quotes from rotoworld:

"Jrue Holiday scored the Sixers' last 14 points in their overtime win and finished with 33 points, five rebounds, 14 assists, three steals and one 3-pointer against the Raptors on Friday.
He completely took over and put the team on his back. Jrue's offensive game has launched to new heights in his last three, averaging 30.7 points to go with 11.3 assists. He should be an All-Star and is turning a nice profit for fantasy owners."

and

"Kyle Lowry shot 3-of-11 from the field for 11 points to go with five rebounds, 11 assists, two 3-pointers and five turnovers in 36 minutes against the Sixers on Friday.
The good news is that he got some heavy burn, but the bad news is that he played poorly with those five turnovers and getting destroyed by Jrue Holiday. Jose Calderon leads the league in assist-to-turnover ratio, so this could still be a developing situation. The Raptors take on the Lakers in a matinee on Sunday and we'll be watching that game closely."

Jrue is a stud and a franchise caliber player, he can do it all for the Sixers and he is clutch, the guy has ice on his veins.

P.S: Lowry, man, Lowry.

His team is out of the playoffs at this point and nobody out of the playoffs is making the all star team. He's good, but you didn't make a thread when calderon dropped 14/11 on him and beat his team badly.

I got league pass to watch Bynum and Jrue with the sixers. Ive followed Jrue since ucla and I'm happy to see him playing so well. He's really breaking out and proving himself to be a great player.

i didnt make a thread when jrue threw down like 30 the game before vs calderon either....

we are like 3 games out of the 8th seed with bynum having not played ONE MINUTE for us.... and hes supposed to come back soon, yet we are out of it?

LOL ok..

i mean if yall can admit the dude is strait ballin and deserves the all star game because he is playing like and IS a top PG in the league.. then im sorry, you can keep looking ignorant

right now there isnt a PG in the eastern conference playing better overall basketball then him

PS... one of lowery's 3 pointers was him literally 2 hand shoving it as the clock expired throwing a hail mary at the rim and banked it in, not even as a shot, but a literal heave....

calderon was like tissue paper guarding him too

last 3 games:

vs Hou :30 and 9
vs NO: 29 and 11
vs TOR: 33 and 14

If he would play for Lakers, Celtics or Knicks this board would explode.

I guess you forget Deron was picked into allstar last year when his team had never been in the playoff pictures during the whole season...

Philly isn't exactly a small market. This board would be exploding if Philly wasn't out of the playoffs and he was putting up those numbers. Regardless I think he's the real deal, but winning is what brings exposure to these things.

it will be a complete shame if holiday isnt added to the all-star team. he is having an amazing year and carrying that team on his back.

So no Kyrie or Jrue for the East? That's humorous, I understand that winning should be weighed in the selection process, however it should only be to a reasonable extent, you also have to be realistic and look at the rosters of player's teams as well. Teams with multiple superstars have a more probable likelihood of winning than a team with a one, one which in this case has an even limited supporting cast, that doesn't mean that all of those stars on those super teams are better than stars that are rolling solo, believe coaches realize this and will vote accordingly.

people keep acting like we are playin full strength... we are missing a top 10 overall player on our team.... is it surprising we are a few games out?

if not for holiday we would be the wizards right now

It would be a travesty if he doesn't make the team. He has been the best PG in east this year along with Rondo.

Our record has nothing to do with Jrue.Put Chris Paul on that team and me might have 2-3 more wins but that's it.Without Jrue we have arguably the worst team in the league.Except Turner and Thad Young our team si pure garbage.Jrue is the only reason we don't have a top 3 bottom record.

Your front court rotation is Lavoy Allen (too small to guard centers), Spencer Hawes ( ) and Kwame Brown ( ) That pretty much negates any stellar play by Holiday and solid play from Turner and Thad Young.

Its funny because its true. The sixers have the worst front court in the NBA.
