Which lottery teams (currently) has brightest future?
Out of the 10 worst teams (WSH, CLE, CHA, PHX, NO, TOR, DET, ORL, SAC)...
I'd go with either Orlando or Sacramento. Both have good pieces for the future, Orlando still needs that alpha male for the future but they have the role players to surround them, and Charlotte has guys like Kemba and MKG.

Re: Which lottery teams (currently) has brightest future?
I voted Detroit. Although they dont necessarily have the future supertar that Cleveland or Washington may have, they have a very nice young core already in Monroe/Drummond/Knight.
This does hinge, however, on one of those 3 becoming a true game-changed (presumably Monroe), or else they may get caught in the spin cycle of late-lotto/first round playoff exits.
I do think theyre an attractive FA destination though, with their tradition, as well as players thinking very highly of Joe D league-wide

The Thunder, because they have the pick of the raptors protected in the top 3.

Lakers by far, they have 4 future Hall of Famers on their team, and an owner willing to spend money.
They pretty much get any star player they want, any time they want, so I fully expect to see LeBron there in 2014. That alone makes their future much brighter then any of their other lottery bound contemporaries.

Orlando only just became a lottery team, so pretty hard to compare. These other teams have been in the process for years and have built up a lot of top picks. Luckily we got a solid young piece in Vucevic out of the Dwight trade.

Agreed, right now I'm taking the only team with a surefire star.

Cavs have Kyrie.
Anthony Davis or Drummond could also become stars but that is yet to be determined.
Cousins has the talent but not sold on his character. Not to mention he could be traded.

Washington and New Orleans.
Detroit maybe, but their back court stinks. Fully healthy, the Cavs were dreadful this season, not buying into them.

Re: Which lottery teams (currently) has brightest future?
Detroit Pistons also have around 25-30 million this off-season to spend (4 expirings-Maxiell,Maggette,Daye,Bynum). They will have a draft pick in the 5-10 range in the 2013 draft too to add to this roster -
Brandon Knight
Rodney Stuckey/Kim English
Tayshaun Prince/Kyle Singler/Khris Middleton
Greg Monroe/Jonas Jerebko/Charlie Villanueva
Andre Drummond/Slava
*You could build a decent team with that base, 25 million to spend, and another top 10 pick. Future is bright. We already have our future. Build around Drummond.
If Dumars goes the trade route, this is our roster this year. Expiring Deals in bold (pistons have over 20 million in expiring deals). Not sure if the casual basketball fan realizes how well the Pistons are sitting right now. Players that could be traded (in my opinion) are in blue. Dumars could build this team quick.
Brandon Knight/Will Bynum
Kyle Singler/Rodney Stuckey/ Corey Maggette/Kim English
Tayshaun Prince/Austin Daye/Khris Middleton
Greg Monroe/Jason Maxiell/Charlie Villanueva/Jonas Jerebko
Andre Drummond/Viacheslav Kravtsov
My opinion is that Detroit should move Knight to first guard off the bench and let him score. He needs to focus on scoring, not running the point. If Detroit get's a decent PG and a SG that can shoot. This team could get filthy quick. Not fair really to assess if Monroe/Drummond can play together. That don't have a PG that get's them easy buckets. Monroe has suffered from that this year. They are asking him to do too much. Monroe could get traded if they don't work together. I doubt it though. Dumars loves the Monroe, Knight, Drummond base he has.
Hopefully Pistons are active in trades this year. They have some players that would help other teams and a ton of money expiring. FA isn't that strong this year and Pistons could take back money in trade.
I'm going Detroit (And I believe that). Joe Dumars has been a part in all three of our titles. He'll get us back to at least the playoffs soon.

Drummond is exactly the type of player that team president Joe Dumars seems to always covet. He likes it when players are castoffs or have been given up on. When players have question marks attached to their names, Dumars rarely is deterred. Many times, this backfires. Charlie Villanueva was viewed as a lazy malcontent before coming to Detroit and he has only recently done anything to beat down that assessment. However, in some cases this has yielded success. The entire starting lineup of the Pistons' title squad in 2004 was composed of castoffs and question marks. So when it was time to make his selection at No. 9, it was a no-brainer. Sure, the Pistons could have gone with a guy like Austin Rivers who could develop into a star guard, or a more proven commodity like Tyler Zeller or John Henson. But Dumars decided to go with the high-risk/high-reward Drummond. So far, that selection appears to be a brilliant one and a pick that could bring the Pistons back to respectability in the near future.

Cleveland easily, we're the only team here with a superstar
We'll have another top 4 pick this year + one in the teens
We also have the most cap space in the league
Oh yeah, and we got Lebron in 2014

To succeed, attitude is equally as important as ability.
