The ONLY deal for Gasol to be made is for Bagniani and Calderon. If I were LA, I would grab that deal while it was still on the table.

Wait the Raps will trade Bargs for Gasol?? What are they waiting on???

i like that trade for both teams honestly.

Bargs is a mediocre srub but fits better in LA as a floor spacer rather than the main option in toronto

Calderon can give you a good 15-20 minutes off the bench and run the offense while Nash sits

Then for toronto

Gasol and Ed Davis is a good starting front court. Then you have Lowry and Derozan. That is a pretty solid team. Especially if Ross continues to improve.
B2B 2021-22 & 2022-23 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Nic Claxton/Walker Kessler/Jeff Green
Nikola Jokic/Jonathan Kuminga/Dean Wade
Cam Johnson/Josh Hart/Kenrich Williams
Alex Caruso/Killian Hayes/Aaron Wiggins
Steph Curry/Delon Wright/DSJ

Lakers are serious about 2014 and not messing with it for Bargnani. I more realistic trade is Calderon + one of their rookie contract players.

Yeah the only person that loses in this is Gasol… Raps are hot garbage

Denver should want Gasol. Iggy and Miller will decline soon, and I'm not sure the Faried/McGee front court will every work.

Gasol gives them nothing. Denver is not a win now team. They are not going to contend with Gasol and it makes no sense for them to pay the tax for him. This is a deal that simply cannot happen.

Gasol doesn't lose out. He gets his trade kicker and he only has another year left, where he could take it easy and rehab himself without Kobe breathing down his neck.

He's going to grab $40M over the next 16 months and then he can head back to Spain to finish out his career.

Gasol for Matrix/Kaman works in the checker... I like that one for both squadrons.
BAF Clippers
PG: CP3 | SGA
SG: SGA | Big Ragu
SF: J Brown | Dorture Chamber
PF: Gordon | Niang
C: Capela | Sharpe

Zero chance. Cuban not sacrificing cap space for Gasol and Kaman is better than Pau ATM.

First claim may very well be true. The second is true statistically for this season (I know, I know, your favorite measure) but I think a change of scenery and the correct role will do Pau well. He was 17/10.5 last year at over 50%. I seriously doubt dude has declined that much at 32. His game is so skills based.

I still believe that Pau can be a 18/10 guy for the next season or two. He'd do that comfortably at the Raptors for example.

Pau seems like he's physically breaking down. I agree that he's a very skilled player, but when your knees are shot, it's difficult to show that skill. He starter playing at a very early age and he has a ton of mileage on him. You can't be that surprised at his decline.

Well let's assume for a second that Gasol is still the guy who should have won Finals MVP in 2010. If you add him to a team that is already a 4-6 seed, and you only give up bench players, how does that not lead to a contender?

And if Denver is not a win-now team, what are they? How do Iggy and Miller fit into any kind of long-term plan? What are they going to do with all of their players on cheap rookie contracts? At the rate they're going, they'll have to let most of them walk, and they'll be left with no assets to trade for the star that they desperately need.

Sorry, I know it's blasphemy to criticize Denver's FO. Their strategy of stockpile assets, playing "team ball," and perpetually losing in the first round (and then use the first round exits as fuel to whine about the plight of small market teams) is basically deserving of a Nobel Prize if you ask most nba analysts.

ared Zwerling ‏@JaredZwerling

Chris Andersen is likely on #Knicks radar, but no serious talks or workout. The free agent is very tight w/ JR Smith from Denver & Grunwald.

I'd rather have K-Mart tbh.

I feel like Zwerling is just throwing out obvious names from this offseason. I don't put too much stock in his sources..

Never like to see a guy go down. Sucks even if its a rival team.
