Post Game Threads-Gifs Related
Family, I brought this up in our last post game thread about the gifs.

Awesome, that will be my third wife.
Real talk though, we may have to contain the gifs to the first 3 pages....dont want you guys to run the risk of going overboard.
Now while I must admit I dont see a MAJOR issue, I, and several other members do feel the gifs are getting a bit too much, but speaking for myself, mainly because of how long it takes to actually discuss the game itself, although I dont want to see them go away altogether....so.......
I have created a poll and a thread to discuss such, and would love to have feedback as to the best ways to handle such, and hopefully with a good turnout of votes and convo a reasonable remedy that all can live with can be implemented.
I was guilty as well reposting the same gif as well (I'm sorry, but she was fine).
Ultimately the goal of the PG is to celebrate in wins, analyze the losses, and discuss the game and activities of such.
So lets do this, and keep our board the best.
Thanks in advance guys.

Celebratory gifs in the game thread. Thoughtful analysis in the post game thread. Over/under 5 pages for post game thread if this happens?

Re: Post Game Threads-Gifs Related
The only problem I have with the GIFs is that they are usually NSFW... sucks for people who read the board while at work, or around their family I'd assume... Sometimes you just want to read about basketball and not be bombarded with images that aren't appropriate for the setting that you're currently in. If I want to see half naked women there are plenty of other sights for that.I usually get around that with my phone or iPad... but just a thought. I'm cool either way.

Well you could create 2 post game threads. One called postgame or pg and one called post game analysis
And the creator of the pg analysis thread would have to provide TKF like keys to the win or loss in the op.
Idk if that would work. I'm just spitballing

i dont usually post gifs, just lately
but i think they should be strictly limited to the first 3 pages.
having 2 postgame threads is a bit much, i dont get the point of that. just keep all questionable-related gifs to the first 3 pages.

One problem with the gifs is that people on this board have god-awful taste in women, and post pictures of these horrible ugly monsters.
Seriously though, it shouldn't be in the game thread. Let us seek out pictures of jiggly women on our own when we choose too, don't force-feed people who want to read about the game.

As a woman, it annoys the crap out of me so much that I have refrained from frequently reading PG Threads.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=972961 as a long time lurker I miss PG threads like this especially for posters who didn't get a chance to watch the game. Gifs are cool as long as they are limited, the last one was ridiculously overboard but that's just me.

I can't tell you how many times i've gone on my laptop after a game, checked out realgm, and my girl glimpses over and there's some half naked chick. The conversation usually goes:
ME: "I'm just checking what other fans are saying about the game."
HER: "Yeah... *rolls eyes*
ME: "No, I'm serious. I'm all fired up from the big win"
HER: "So you look at porn?"
ME: "It's NOT PORN!"
HER: "goodnight"

I don't mind this idea at all. GIF's should get their own thread. Post Game analysis in its own thread.

i suggest confining the gifs to the first 2 pages... the only issue is that I can see people quoting those gifs on subsequent pages...
What I think may work is to put all the NSFW gifs in its own thread and the SFW gifs on the PG thread.

Re: Post Game Threads-Gifs Related
I'll chime in, seeing as how I'm a perpetrator in this gif scandal.
I think it's really only the last 2 games that people have taken issue with. I, along with a few others, perhaps took the whole "good azz postgame" a little too far. So we can all point the finger and blame 'GoodAzzGame_mpharris' for that...kidding of course.
I'm a little superstitious, so I will continue to post "Woody's Wall of Wonder-Butts" within pages 1-3 unless explicitly told not to. After the current win streak ends I will retire it completely, and go back to an "eating" or general "celebratory" gif...which tend not to offend.
I love the postgame analysis parts too, but the first few pages always seemed like a quick victory lap before getting to the details of what went down. Come down from the high of the win, and then look at things objectively type of deal.
I don't think anyone is being unreasonable at all, in asking for some sort of limits on these offending gifs...after all, we do have the whole "booty" thread to post in.

The celebratory SFW are definitely cool for the first 2-3 pages,
Borat, the zebra, and all the dancin/good eating/funny gifs, definitely enhance the winning giddiness.
The Bootiliciousness should have its own thread...save a few good luck charms on the GT.
Quoting 5 pics of azz just for a smiley face, thumbs up emoticon, or what's her name? is a bit much
and I can see a significant, or work enviro getting the wrong idea...
You can get porn anywhere...these Knick victories are hard to come by.

"this thread will help the issue on its own"
this couldnt be further from the truth.
keep it as is, not every game thread is a "good ass game", it usually comes and goes.

Keep it in the first 4 pages. The gifs are sometime funny but it gets a bit plaid out after a while. Gifs in general on this board are played out. But some of them do make me laugh. But I come on this site to talk knicks basketball, and I enter the post game thread to read and discuss the game.
I hardly ever post in the pg threads, this is one of the reasons why. But 4 or 5 pages is more then enough time to post your celebrating pics. Maybe even make it a regular thing after a knicks win, but eventually I wanna read and talk basketball.
