Thankfully they've both given us close to 10 assists a game between them. Even JR Smith has been averaging 4 assists a game, so guys are moving the ball around. We do really miss Felton's scoring though. Pablo doesn't look to score much and Kidd scores most of his points off spot ups. I don't know if it's by design that Kidd and Pablo don't put up much points on the board or if it's that they're just not capable of it at this stage of their careers. I do like Pablo's steals numbers though. It seems Pablo is too much of a liability to play him any more than the minutes he's getting.

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
Those are great stats for a 2nd and 3rd string PG's who are asked to do more than what's required now that Felton is injured. It would be nice if Prigi can average around 5 PPG and Kidd is just about where he should be in terms of his age and playing time. Wouldn't it be nice two have combo PG's like Charlie Ward and Chris Childs or Mark Jackson & Rod Strickland again?

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
Prigs is playing like the posterchild for what you want in a backup point guard. He is almost unselfish to a fault, plays hard, pesky defense with a lot of effort and he controls the tempo. I expected nothing less from him considering he is a true veteran of the game. This guy is a true professional and a winner.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Prigs should have come to NBA when he was 20, I he could be an All Star.

It's interesting to read stuff like this (not just you). I see a lot of this in many forums where time really seems to heal all wounds. Childs and Ward were villified for years by many Knick fans as the two (well, the PG position really) that were holding back those teams because their production was so subpar.
Mark and Rod where good though..

Prigs is just an example of how talented foreign players are.
Admittedly I like to root for foreign teams in the Olympics to show NBA players that there are people just as good as them throughout the world.

I love Priggy as much as the next guy, but he is too athletically limited to ever be an All-Star. Just be glad that we got him.

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
Theyve been great holding down the fort but a couple things Ive noticed;
- Kidd is a shooting guard now a days. I think him and Shumpert are gonna be a great backcourt pair.
- Neither player gets into the lane. When they do, theyre always looking to pass. This is why Felton is so important, he brings a whole 'nother dimension to our squad and hes gonna be great with Amare.
Felton(34)/Prigs(8)/Shump(6)
Kidd (25)/Smith(12)/Shump(11)
Melo(20)/Smith(16)/Novak-Brewer (12)
Amare(20)/Melo(16)/Novak-Cope-Sheed(12)
Chandler(35)/Amare-Camby-Sheed(13)
If Shump deserves more minutes they are gonna come from Prigs.

I'm not sure Prigs gets minutes anymore when we're completely healthy

Now Im not comparing the two players by any means but Steve Nash propably never dunked a ball in his life...

Had Priggy come to the NBA two or three years earlier and given at least one year to adjust to the NBA game, he would be even better for us as a backup PG.

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
When Felton returns our front court lineup will likely be.
Felton 34/Kidd 6/Prigs 8
Shump 20/Jr 14/ Kidd 14
Woody trust Prigs so he'll find minutes for him. I think once fully healthy we'll have a 5 man front court rotation, with Brewer and White seeing minutes sparingly. Brewer will probably see minutes at the SF with the 2nd unit since he can play defense.

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
I honestly can see Woodson giving Kidd and Pablo certain nights off alternating games at times.
Pablo didn't move his family over to ride pine, he'll play.
Shump and JR there are zero minutes for the 2 guard available, which is why it makes zero sense to keep White around, other than the slam dunk contest.
I can see Kidd and Pablo just sharing the backup pg duties.
I'd hate to be in Woodson's shoes, good thing this is a team of vets.

This is a team of vets predisposed to injuries. March is a brutal month with six back to back games and 18 games overall. So, yes, Pablo will see prolific time as your inference regarding Woody alternating games at times between Kidd & Pablo.

Steve Nash has dunked, is very quick and is fairly athletic. Priggy's problems have nothing to do with dunking abilities, it's staying in front of his man and being quick enough to beat pressure.
Most times, against backup PGs, he's great. Other times, JR will have to bring up the ball. I love his game though.

Sometimes I wish Prigioni just looked to score more. He has the ability to do so.

Re: Kidd and Prigioni's stats with Felton out
That's the good thing about Pablo, he fits in with what he believes the team needs at the moment.
Early he wanted to set everyone up, and press the ball on defense.
Then Woodson demanded he shoot, and you could tell even though he is capable, he'd rather pass.
He's got keep defender honest, so he has to fire away, but with Amare Novak and JR to pass to, he really does not have to score, but attract the defense for a nice pass out.
