Who is watching the INFAMOUS 81pt Game?

Post#1 » by Raptors Aiya » Tue Jan 22, 2013 3:03 pm

Is anyone going to be watching Kobe's 81point game?

That game was one of the lowest points of this Raptors' franchise but it is a part of NBA history.

In addition to that, this could be an opportunity to see if we can figure who was telling the truth about that game.

Jalen Rose or Sam Mitchell.

Did Sam Mitchell hang this team out to dry to teach them a lesson?

Did the Raptors throw all kinds of Defensive sets at Kobe to try to stop him?

Was Kobe just simply unstoppable that night?

Also, I was at the Raptors/Laker Game last weekend so I know there are a HELL of a lot of Kobe/Lakeheads in Toronto. Will anyone be following Kobe's Tweets during the Broadcast?

Which broadcast feed is being played? I remember the Raps announcers making a few comments about guys requesting to guard Kobe or strategies the Raps were using or could use. Don't remember the specifics anymore. Be curious to hear it now.

hmmmm having a tough time finding out if this game will be broadcast on NBATV Canada. I just assumed it would be. As of right now it looks like only NBATV will be broadcasting this.

I'm sure everyone remembers where they were when they saw/heard of this game.

I was getting laid in a hotel, with sportscenter on in the background.

Needless to say,
there was no more lay,
until further into the next day.

I hope they use the Canadian broadcast so I can hear Chuck break out the "Salami and Cheese" line when the raps were up by double digits in the second quarter.

Kobe is probably fapping hard right now thinking about that 81pt game.

Seeing it the first time was enough.

As for who was telling the truth, it was a bit of both. The initial strategy seemed to be let Kobe go off but take away his teammates, relying on Kobe eventually getting tired and chucking the Lakers out of the game. The Raps were winning after all.

But Kobe got so hot and stayed so hot and made absolutely ridiculous shots even as the defense tightened.

Still remember watching that game live and next day at school, everybody talking about it and those who didn't even watch basketball.

If only Kobe had scored 81 points on us on Sunday, his team would have won.

Of course, he probably still could have scored 81 if he just jacked up about 150 more shots.

I'm pretty sure it's not even airing here in Canada. So no one will be watching it..

He did no such thing.

He actually did. I remember that ****.

Afterwards, Swirsky would careful as **** to say it. He'd only do so in the last 2-3 mins of a game. He learned.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he said it (wouldn't stake my life on it though). Didn't he say it ridiculously early, like a few minutes in to the 3rd quarter and the Raps up by about 20? That's what I remember, but I could be wrong.

I remember it too, and I remember Leo giving him a hard time about it later, which is the reason a lot of people think he said it. He talks about in early in the 3rd quarter I beleive (ex: I'm opening the fridge door, or some such nonsense), but he never exclaimed it.

It was more like the end of the 3rd. I don't think he'd be audacious enough to call it out in the 2nd.
