World Peace honored by UCLA health system

Post#1 » by Slava » Wed Jan 23, 2013 6:10 am

UCLA recognized Metta World Peace for his commitment to UCLA patients and for bringing awareness to the importance of mental health. His visits to UCLA's neuropsychiatric hospital to share his experiences with adult and adolescent patients has been inspiring.

David T. Feinberg, president of UCLA Health System, and Daphna Edwards Ziman, founder and chairperson of Children Uniting Nations, presented Metta World Peace with UCLA Health System's CICARE award. The award recognizes individuals who are consistently acclaimed by patients and staff for their outstanding effort to fulfill our vision of healing humankind, one patient at a time, by improving health, alleviating suffering, and delivering acts of kindness.

This is the first time that a CICARE award has been given to an individual who is not affiliated with UCLA Health System

Nice job Metta. Teams not doing work on the hardwood but a least this guy is taking care of business off the court.

One of few things that I can be proud about the Lakers.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
