I certainly understand why you are trying to change the subject. I would to if i was quoted saying something like that.

Upping this to reiterate how terrible this trade was.

I forgot about the extra pick we gave up too. That was like the sh*t covered cherry on top. Most clueless GM in the league.

From the first few pages of the original Okariza Trade thread:

This is a HORRIBLE trade unless we're getting the #10 pick.

Okafor is redundant with Nene and Seraphin. We simply don't need him. Ariza is a decent wing but not any better than what we can find in free agency. Only with this trade, we obliterate any potential cap room in 2013. I just don't understand it.

Did we get #10?

Without it, this is just EG getting fleeced as usual.

LOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Did we get the bottle of lube at least? Please?

Inexplicable trade

Agreed. Horrible trade. Nene was one thing, risky, but maybe would pay off. Now he's done it to the entire roster. Trading one over the hill expiring for two more years of salary which could well be over the hill by the end. Crazy. I'm glad I decided not to renew my tickets.

This is a horrible, short-sighted move. At this point, I am wondering why Grunfeld still has a freakin' job. He has pissed away a ton of cap money on Nene, Okafor, and Ariza. This is a effin travesty.

I blame Ted. If he had fired Ernie properly, this trade wouldnt of happened

Hey, that extension that EG got wasn't bad, right? I mean, sure, he kinda sorta built a terrible, capped-out team that was (and still is) an NBA bottom-feeder but hey, he kinda sorta cleaned up his mess and built a bottom-feeding team with a dash of potential.

So giving him that extension was a good move, right? Because, hey, a guy with a track record of poor moves probably won't make another one. Right? RIGHT?

Kill me

That's a lot of cap room taken up, and we still haven't improved a lick offensively.

There are the veterans Ted was talking about.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop, we help NO clear-up cap with Shard's expiring contract and WE give-up a pick??? There's got to be something else happening on draft-night for us.

Im pissed if we don't get the number 10 pick if this trade. We blow our cap for a chance to be a treadmill playoff team for the next two seasons. I rather lose and stock pile picks like OKC did.

Scary stat - Okafor averaged less than a block a game in 28.9 minutes a game this season, and he's going to turn 30 before next season starts. And he's one of the highest paid players in the game. Ummm.

Who is going to score next year?

Some who chimed in then either do not post much or stopped all together. If so many people knew the deal was bad why didn't EG?
Bye bye Beal.

Starting to see more chatter on the board as to all the options the Wizard have using these two and how all hope is not lost.

Figured this deserved a bump.

Both have been solid veterans that are helping to stabilize the team. Okafor has been a double double machine since the return of Nene.

Trevor A has been a little inconsistent since returning from his leg injury and getting moved to coming off the bench, but man if that dude long. And he is really good at getting in the passing lanes. Hopefully he rounds into good form over the next couple of games.

With everyone healthy, the team should start to settle into better defined roles. That should be good for Trevor since he isn't a lead dog.

It's also appropriate that it's bumped because Memphis just gave a first round pick to drop around 5 million in salary. We gave a second round pick to absorb about 30 million.

Well, to be fair, we also traded Arenas for Lewis (with no pick involved) and saved $30M.

Only if this deal never happened...

1. accept trade for Harden
2. buyout Lewis - S&T for R. Anderson for Booker
3. draft Crowder instead of what's his name?
4. resign J. Singleton

Wall ... Price
Harden ... Crawford
Webster ... Crowder ... Martin
R. Anderson ... J. Singleton ... Vesely
Nene ... Seraphin

That team would play .500 ball without Wall, and .600 ball with him.

If the Wizards play their cards right, our line-up in a year or two will destroy the line-up above.

LOL ok let's play the game. What player or player(s) makes you feel so confident?

Only way that comes into fruition is if we somehow acquire Cousins. Harden looks a lot more mortal then in the beginning of the season so I'm not so worried about that anymore (clearly Beal is a couple seasons away from even approaching Harden type play).

Wall
Harden
Webster
Anderson
Nene

v

Wall
Beal
Webster
Nene
Cousins

I'd take the second group...but its going to be difficult to get cousins.

To be fair, if you're going to talk about adding Cousins to the 2nd group, you could add him to the first group as well. I'm assuming that a Cousins trade would involve Seraphin a future 1st as the foundation. So Option 1 would be:

Wall
Beal
Webster
Anderson/Nene
Cousins/Nene

With Nene being the offensive focal point of the 2nd unit, and the first unit being centered around the Wall/Cousins pick and roll with deadly floor spacing.

The funniest part about that statement—when has Grunfeld actually play his cards right in the past 3 seasons? The only move where he truly duped another team in the past few seasons was the Hinrich maneuver. Every other move he has made since then has qualified somewhere between obvious and just plain terrible.
