I think Cha and Pho finish worse than us, and that Was can go either way at this point (4 wins to make up is a lot). Nola and Cleveland will both pass us.

The Bobcats really are pitiful though. That team started the season 5-3. They are currently 10-32.

I think Washington will move up because their defense is actually pretty good. They are #10 in defensive efficiency which should help them pick up some Ws. I don't think any of the other teams can bring themselves out of the bottom.

Who's tanking? There's nothing intentional about our losses

We're only a few games ahead of the 2nd worst record. If we get a top 4 pick, it won't be Otto Porter. Even if we do land the 5th pick, there are better options.

Our season so far makes zero sense. We get swept by the Raptors and lose to Bobcats, but yet can hang in there against the Heat, Spurs, Bulls. At some point though I think Vaugn's going to have to give up and sit the veterans. Give Harkless, Nicholson more minutes and except we are headed for the lotto.

I'd expect more of that after the trade deadline. Also, if we're only going to win 1/3 of our games, I'd rather beat the good teams than the bad ones, for morale and especially for draft purposes. No matter what our record is this season, we can say we've beaten or been competitive with some of the best teams in the league.

Yeah if we end up with the 5th pick I doubt BPA is Otto Porter. His draft stock will fall imo.

As of now, this is how I'd place the top-10.

1. Charlotte Bobcats: SG Ben McLemore

2. Minnesota Timberwolves: C Nerlens Noel

3. Orlando Magic: SF Shabazz Mohammad

4. Phoenix Suns: SG Archie Goodwin

5. New Orleans Hornets: SF/PF Anthony Bennett

6. Sacramento Kings: PG Marcus Smart

7. Oklahoma City Thunder: C Willie Cauley-Stein

8. Detroit Pistons: PG Trey Burke

9. Cleveland Cavaliers: C Cody Zeller

10. Washington Wizards: C Alex Len

I see both Trey Burke and Archie Goodwin shooting up the top 10, with Burke almost a lock to go to Detroit. I think OKC takes Cauley-Stein with the Toronto pick, unless that pick is traded. Both Zeller and Len will inevitably fall, although I don't see either falling completely out of the top ten. Cleveland will almost definitely take whichever of the 2 has the best advanced stats by the end of the season, regardless of where they pick 4-10. Cleveland might also opt for someone like MCW, and I don't see MCW going above the 8-15 range. New Orleans is a total wildcard for me, but SF makes the most sense. Depending on where Orlando drafts, I see us taking one of Ben McLemore, Shabazz Mohammad, Marcus Smart, CJ McCollum, or Trey Burke. I don't see a project like Noel in this team's cards, even if he might not be a terrible fit.

We're in the bottom four of the league, but it doesn't really feel like it. Lots of close games and there have been things to get excited about.

Orland is now something like 4-15 in games decided by less than 6 points. Such a stat-line sounds like a coaching failure to me.

It's funny Cleveland would get the other Zeller, too.

Interesting note: A SG has not gone #1 in an NBA Draft sine 1971 (former All-Star Austin Carr).

wow

So, Orlando's last two #1's have been "ok." So when Pat Williams wins Orlando yet another #1, and the Magic draft McLemore with that pick, then we are all guaranteed greatness!

Or... it shows our players are often more inexperienced and/or not as talented compared to the opposition. We don't have a star to close out games and we've had a bunch of injuries, too. This is the NBA... even the bad teams can play a close game 90% of the way, but the better team usually comes through when it matters most. Vaughn is doing fine for the hand he was dealt. It's way too early in the rebuilding process to label him a failure.

We have a bunch of 3rd options on our team, this is to be expected. On a winning team, which one of our current players would be a legit 2nd option?

If BBD is out for the rest of the year, we'll easily finish with a bottom 3 record. We are currently sitting alon at 4th worst and only 1 1/2 games out of 3rd worst and 2 1/2 games ahead of LAST.

And with the way Stern likes to reward teams who lose superstars (cle/lebron NO/cp3), if we are that close, wouldnt surprise me if we get #1 overall

Maybe we can bundle some players/TPE (separate trades) like afflalo, harrington, hedo etc and get another decent #1 pick. At this point id trade anyone but vuc and JJ and that includes rookie harkless and nicholson
