who do you want as our PG?

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 1:54 am

EDIT - added TS% TO% Drtg & Collison

There’s a good chance BJ is traded or signs elsewhere –
who do want to replace him?
Some stats for some guys mentioned. Anyone have access to TS%?
Numbers rounded up/down to nearest whole number except salary

age-PER-/-mpg-ppg-apg-fg%-3pt%-ft%-/-to%-drt-TS%-/-YR-$/yr

Jennings – 23-17-/-37-19-6-395-364-804-/-13-106-494/-0-3.2
Ellis ------ 27-15-/-37-18-6-401-232-796-/-13-105-474-/-1-11.0
Udrih ---- 30-14-/-19-07-4-476-271-727-/-17-108-523-/-0-7.6
Teague -- 24-16-/-33-14-7-459-368-867-/-19-106-552-/-0-2.4
Dragic ---26-17-/-32-14-6-440-314-743-/-15-109-539-/-3-7.5
Bledsoe – 23-19-/-22-10-3-476-428-792-/-18-99-523-/-1-1.7
Lowry --- 24-21-/-27-14-6-417-389-831-/-16-106-575-/-1-5.8
Rondo -- 26-18-/-37-14-11-484-240-645-/-23-102-516-/-2-11.0
Collison - 26-17-/-31-13-6-485-393-900-/-17-108-588-/-0-2.3
Others??

Comments
Rondo great apg & fg% 2nd best Drtg / terrible to% ft% % 3pt% 2nd lowest TS fair salary

Udrih poor 3pt% & ft% Drtg + he’s 30

Bledsoe best overall but would take a ton to aquire

Dragic average stats best TO/worst Drtg but is already signed to a fair deal

Teague average stats 2nd worst TO/ 3rd best TS but is up for new deal which may > Dragic

Lowry matching stats w/ fewer mpg. 2nd best TS - 1 more yr b4 payday.

Collison average stats 2nd worst Drtg & is due new deal – how much?

Others?

OR Just pay BJ $13mil/yr?

To me, it really depends on what happens at the deadline, if we do add someone like Josh Smith, I would like to bring in a PG like Jarret Jack in the off-season on a 3 yr 15m deal. He has top end defense, is a knockdown shooter when open, and a very good passer.

Trey Burke x 100

I love his game. I fear his stock will keep rising and he will be a lottery pick. Bucks will just miss him unless we trade up.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I like Trey Burke, Rondo and Teague. I'd take a shot at Bledsoe if the price was right which I don't think it would be. I'd take Lowry to hold us over until we got a younger option.

I agree that he'll end up being lotto, which is why I definitely want to pick up an extra pick if possible. Package 2 picks together to move up and get Burke.

No Collison? I'd be down with Collison, rather than hoping they can draft a good pg. It's unlikely that the best player available when you draft also happens to play the position you need. Would definitely trade Chucky McNobrains for Collison and filler if there was no better offer.

I would do this too if no better options are out there for one reason: we won't overpay and regret giving Baddy a contract worth much more than he deserves. Fact is our team is going nowhere with him as PG so why lock him in for another 4 years and tread water like we are now.

Keeping Jennings and/or Monta is certainly the best way to stay consistent. Consistently inconsistent.

Where is it that you think future talent comes from if not the draft?

Lowry is the best PG of the ones mentioned in the OP. Btw TS% is on bball-ref (basketball-reference.com).

Love to start fresh with Trey. Only 6"0 but great athleticism and 6"5 reach so he'll be fine.

Yes because our plan for the last 10 years has been build patiently through the draft trying to find young stars. No it's been the opposite and that's why we are where we are.

I hate to be negative towards another poster but every one of your suggestions / posts I've seen are all wrong.
