Klomp, would you mind including the record for the #8 team in the West?

Now that we've heard that we can't stick PHX with the MIN pick if we don't make the play-offs, I'm desperately hoping for a giant run. I hope it's not too late for some big trade.

We are 7 games out, with 4 teams we would have to pass.

Well. Poythress might fall. We can develop him. Or Saric. Muscala. Walters.

It will be tough to crack the next few spots IMO. Getting past Sacto will probably be as low as we go.

Yeah I think 6 is about as high as we go.

My wish list:

1. McLemore 2. Noel 3. Porter 4. Oladipo 5. McCollum 6. Muhammad 7. Len

All of those guys fill a need in some capacity and I think at least one will be available no matter where we pick between #6 & #10.

I don't watch college much, but I'm dying for one of those shooting guards that can shoot for the Wolves

As long as we can get into the lottery we give ourselves a chance to maybe get a high pick

At 8 right now the best pick looks like Len, with McLemore, Muhammad, Noel, Smart gone, maybe Porter.

Len/Porter if the Wolves doesnt get into the top3.

Maybe you can trade the pick+Williams+Roy exp. contract (even plus Memphis pick) for a 2-4th pick and a guy that can block shots (Tyrus Thomas, Okafor, Gortat...) and draft McLemore.

Oladipo seems like one of the best choices. a freakish athletic wing, one of the best on ball defenders in college. he also has an improving jumpshot

Still think we trade the pick for a vet. You just don't win games with young players unless you draft a superstar. All those Oladipo's or whoevers are not going to be gamechagers for a few years.

I'm pretty confident that we can move up in the top 3. If we get pick (6-8), using the MEM pick and/or Williams will be more than enough to move up. I wonder if that's why we're holding off moving him until summer.

We're more than likely not getting the offers we want at this moment anyways, so if Williams ups his value having more games like the last one, he should get some of his value back.

It can be pretty tough to trade up, so I'm not confident we can. I think we will wait on potential trades until the summer though. Why trade for a SG now if we can get one with a top 10 pick during the draft?

we have a good amount of vets. nothing wrong with improving depth through the draft.

Again it's a well known fact that teams with more vets are more successfull and win more games than teams with mostly young inexperienced players. And again your boy Kevin Love just met with grandpa Glenn and apparently they are on the same page and I can bet money that the page is called winning more games in near future. So add that to our coach who doesn't really play young players unless those players have advanced BB IQ and it makes our draft pick just a trade asset for a win now type player.

Don't get your hopes up, draft nuts.

Chase Budinger turned out really well didn't he? Houston traded him because they were trying to get a package of young talent & picks to trade for Dwight and they had a superior player in Parsons at his position.

Teams don't trade good talent on good contracts for picks. Who are we looking at (SG/SF/C) that we can trade the pick for? Redick will be a free agent, the Wizards bigs are paid too much to match salary for, most lottery teams don't have nice talent. Do you want DeRozan? He's probably available. Wilson Chandler? Your options are extremely limited. You win by having talented players. Age/inexperience has little to do with it. Look at Irving & Lillard, they help their teams win.

WTF are you talking about? Bud looked exactly like what we needed until he tore his meniscus and I hope he is brought back next season. And remind me please how many games have Terence Jones won for Houston?
And as far as players available for our draft pick? I'm pretty sure someone like Afflalo is a good target.

I'm sure we'll consider trading the pick, but as mentioned it's tough to find good players on good contracts that other teams are willing to trade for picks. Monetarily, we might be better off just keeping the pick and having a player who's paid rookie scale.

Are you serious?

The Budinger trade looked incredible before he got injured, and the pick that Houston got (Terrance Jones?) has done nothing for them so far.
