What exactly happened to Yi Jianlian that he leaves

Post#1 » by StatAintLie » Wed Feb 20, 2013 2:45 am

Does anyone know what exactly happened to Yi a few years ago?

Why were he sent away to Nets? After all he was 6th pick of the draft and according to his profile he is 7' tall and bodyfat is only 3.4% while his max vertical is 38". He can shoot from downtown and a lot people thought he could be next Nowizki or Garnett. And I remember he used to be rookie of the month.

How come such a player was traded away?

He absolutely hated it in Milwaukee. Side note: my brother saw him at Target one time and he was the only one who recognized him lol.

Glad we didn't keep his scrub ass though.

We require all of our players to have 3.3% body fat or less.

He was probably 24 instead of 19, game never developed. Had terrible hands, couldn't handle the ball at all, was incredibly soft and never finished strong.

Despite that he had an incredibly silky smooth jumper for a 7 footer, had very quick feet, and ran the floor like gazelle. I dunno why he completely failed in the league, just too physical I guess.

Why did we trade him? We were able to dump Bobby Simmons and got a "star" sidekick for Michael Redd in Richard Jefferson. Unfortunately for us, Richard Jefferson never wanted to play here and was in steep decline as well.

Yi was yet another victim of not having it all.

He showed some 'Promise' i believe.

But seriously, he just wasn't impressed by the river or the lake.

The correct answer is that he has no balls at all. He started out fine but couldn't handle that everyone wanted to block/dunk on the hyped Chinese guy and he turned into an utter vag. Soft as butter. Brandon Jennings' fall away layups are embarrassed by his efforts.

NBA players are surprisingly more difficult to play against than a chair.
