Heat has agreed to send forward-center Dexter Pittman and a second round pick to the Grizzlies for a trade exception, sources tell Y! Sports

Miami planning on using that roster spot on someone?
A 2nd rounder AND cash looks a steep price if they don't intend to use that spot.

Grizzlies are finals favorites now, Heat to enter rebuilding.

Eh, Id have hoped for a bit more as a Griz fan. If nothing else it would have been nice to see us turn our cap space into a first, considering the number of them we've given away at the deadline over the years.

I'd been hoping to sign a veteran ring-chasing big man like O'Neal, but I suppose that's still a possibility. I can live with Pittman in the emergency backup big role, I guess.

Pittman is just a big body. Leuer is a better player though not as big. It's gonna be a rare situation where we're better off inserting Pittman than Leuer.

We should have gotten a rotation-quality guard, like Rip. That way our end of bench guys would be guard (Wroten), a wing (Daye), and a big (leuer). Now we have 6 bigs on our team in Gasol, Randolph, Arthur, Davis, Leuer, and Pittman.
