Yep, per Windhorst.

The Hawks have traded Anthony Morrow to Dallas for Dahntay Jones, sources tell ESPN

Adding the poll and official label.

Morrow's the better player, by far.

Did Atlanta do this deal just to save on the difference between Morrow and Dahntay's contract?

We needed a wing defender in the worst way. Jones fits the bill with us having a surplus of shooters with Korver, Stevenson, and Jenkins as reliable shooters. Morrow hasn't been getting any burn and a lot of DNP's.

probably. Neither guy is a regular in his teams rotation so saving a few bucks was probably enough incentive for Atl. They probably also thought having another good perimeter defender might help in the PS.

Im not totally sure the point for Dallas either. We dont really need a guy like Morrow unless the idea is simply to reduce Vince's minutes.

I don't know who "won" the trade, but I was cheering when I saw this trade. I probably would have been cheering on any trade that got Dahntay off this team. I think our chemistry will be better without him.

Anthony Morrow is a top 5 3-point shooter in the league.

Also went to high school pretty close to where I live. He'll get a good shot in Dallas. :D

Morrow is hurt and Jones is not hurt, it's a simple trade for the Hawks going into the playoffs.

After the season, depending when Louis will come back, Atlanta will probably try to re-sign Morrow this summer.

Not really.. his 3pt% has gone down every season of his career... except this season (47/46/42/37/40) and he's barely played.

Probably not. rookie John Jenkins was sent to the d-league, then Louis Williams, Devin Harris, and Morrow got hurt and Jenkins was called back up to the Hawks.

Morrow played alot in November and December, but then missed all of January and only played two games in Febuary. Morrow has had nagging back problems since December, which has limited him to only playing 25 games and only averaging 12mpg.

When Morrow has played for the Hawks, he has been great, shooting .400 from three and hustle off the bench, but because of Louis and Devin's injury problems, the Hawks just need healthy bodies to finish the season and that is where Dahntay comes in.

I don't hink Morrow "will have a shot in Dallas" because i don't think he will be healthy for the rest of the year.

Carlisle loves his 3-point shooters. I think Morrow will thrive as OJ's backup.

I'm apparently not the only one who thinks so: http://www.sbnation.com/2013/2/22/4018232/anthony-morrow-trade-don-nelson-pure-shooter

I think it's a win-win situation. No-brainer for both teams. Hawks doesn't need Morrow with Korver. Dallas doesn't need Jones with Marion and Crowder. They both add dimension to their new team.

By the way, is Morrow a 2 or 3?

Mainly SG. Will probably be competing for time with Crowder
