Anyone glad we didn't deal DW?
He's been playing well as of late and there is no way we get value for him now since he was playing horribad to start the season and his minutes were so sporadic.
I'm personally glad we kept him, he seems different from Jonny and Wes, Derrick actually has had some huge games for us and seems to be improving instead of staying neutral.

Love me some D.Will.

Dealing him now might've been too early.
Looks like he's finding his groove, need to build that trade value up.

For now, yes. Let him start the rest of the season and move him this off-season when his value gets lifted from 6 feet under.

What if he fully develops to what people projected he should be?

A SF?
Then we keep him and find our two-way 2 guard and try to contend.

Altho he is currently far away from SF spot now. He is improving compairing to the last season.
1.2ppg, 0.3rpg, minor stuff but compairing it with last season and going a step forward with same mpgs is progress to me, invisible but nice.
Apparently SF spot will be loaded for atleast end of the next season, so there aren't gonna be minutes for Derrick there unless Adelman decides to pull up some athletic with taste of Pek's strength frontcourt in
Derrick ----- Johnson
\ /
Pek
+ Adding Bjelica to the roster and resigning Budinger seals the spot rotation. Altho Bjelica and Gelabale would prolly cover SG spot from time to time, there won't be valuable minutes on Derrick to improve his play there, unless next 31 game he starts getting atleast 10-5mpg on that spot.

He's slowly getting better, and has a good attitude, no sense moving him now for a small return.

If he can average 18 and 8 over the final 31 maybe we can get something decent for him in the offseason.

Re: Anyone glad we didn't deal DW?
I never was too down on him and he didn't bother me like so many other fans. I have been dissapointed but that happens, alot when it comes to our draft picks. Still I am happy to have him as he has improved quite a bit on one season. Also his value will probably be a lot higher if he keeps playing like this. He def looks a hell of a lot more explosive than he did last year and if those crazy almost highlights start to actually become highlights, I think a lot of teams will be interested. We'd might even keep him if he could play SF and take over when AK leaves or declines enough to be a role player.
At this point it looks like he needs to be a PF though to enjoy any real success,

Can he have Kevin Love's hands though?

Very Happy we kept him. There was nothing out there I saw worth giving him up for. Millsap didn't make any sense considering he's a FA after this year. D-Will has shown he's improving. He's not shown what made him the 2nd overall pick consistently, but there are flashes

If he could shoot a little more consistently from 3 and if he had a better handle of the ball on his way to the basket he'd be so good... :/

I must say, his ability to finish has been a cause for concern since I can remember, BUT the last few games he's been drawing fouls and finishing against defenders. I just hope it continues

Re: Anyone glad we didn't deal DW?
While I'm glad he wasn't dealt until now because it would have meant too many minutes for Dante most likely, or someone else having to fill the minutes at the four. On the other hand, either him or Love will have to be dealt sooner or later if Williams keeps improving like he has been. It's just too much value to miss out on.
Not sure whom I'd rather trade, though. There's plenty of reasons to trade Love but he's also the much better player. Either way, though, if Williams keeps improving we should be able to fill out our roster in the off-season nicely.

Re: Anyone glad we didn't deal DW?
yeah i was very happy we kept him. he's been growing a lot lately, especially in being able to make a mid range j instead of forcing the issue on a bad drive.
