That part was definitely hard to watch. If Dr. Buss knew him, they by all means it was fine, but I have a feeling he didn't know him...

Oh yeah! There's also some Jim Hill parts that are worth watching. He was very deep and soulful with his words. He spoke twice; at the opening and end of the ceremony.

Here it is. Apparently it was Jimmys idea :nonono:

pretty neat idea to have someone be the voice of the fan, someone who at least met dr. buss. too bad the guy was horrible.

Lovely memorial. Magic's speech was amazing and the bond between Kobe & Phil is just so awesome. Even when they had to talk about Dr. Buss, their words just intertwined all the time and Phil looked like he was moved when Kobe spoke.

Shaq & Jerry West were pretty good as well, Kareem was so eloquent. Riley seemed to be on some Eastern religion phase but you could say that he really wanted to coach the Lakers one more time.

I did not see Pau's speech and can't seem to find any links. If anyone can point one with English sub-titles, I'd appreciate it!

I feel that Kareems speech was more mechanical. He seemed to be reading everything from his cards.

Did anyone figure out who it was?

His name is Greg Tomlinson. He's one of Jimmy Buss's friends. I don't think he was friends with Dr. Buss.

His speech really tainted the ceremony though. He really shouldn't have gone up.

Beautiful Memorial Service for the Great Dr. Jerry Buss today!

Not gonna lie when Randy Newman started singing "You Got a Friend in Me" with the pictures of Jerry in the background I kinda lost it .

Still so very sad about Dr. Buss' passing. :(
But like Magic said its time to stop being so sad and it's time to celebrate the life of the great Dr. Buss.

We will never forget you GOAT. Rest in Paradise

Dr. Buss will be missed. Truly the only owner in sports history that can sit at the same table as Jerry Steinbrenner. It is my hope that the family never sells this team, and that they honor his memory by highlighting his leadership and ownership strengths going forward.

Did it seem like West and PJ still really don't like each other or is it just me?

I felt like Kobe's, Magic's, and Shaq's memorials all had components that were directed at Dwight... I hope he's receptive.

It was really touching to hear from guys like Riles and West who have gone on to other teams and been successful in their own ways, come back and talk about the Lakers like their roots. I guess I never really expected that, and it may be the biggest testament to Dr. Buss's ability to bring together great people and make them better.

Did he? They showed him when Magic was asking players to stand up and he was checking out his phone and chatting with the guy next to him. At least I thought he was... Anyway, if he did, I stand corrected.

Just re-watched the end of the video: he was already standing up (after Magic called all former and current Lakers players) and he did put his L up. He was next to Jodie Meeks, made the L backwards and I think Jodie was showing him how to do it the right way!

Were Ronny and Lamar in attendance? I thought I saw them at the 7:20 mark of Magic's speech. It's nice to know they went. :)
