Immediately?

Immediately?

I'd say so, more than Amare or Chandler.

First of all, I doubt you'll see very much of Martin on the court during these 10 days. Second, Amare is a pretty good weak side shot blocker as he's been showing in even limited minutes since he's come back. Third, look at their stats. They're about the same. Amare's is 1.4/game career; Martin 1.2/game.

If this were last July and somebody told all of us.....come late February Knicks will......

- be 1st in the Atlantic
- 2nd in the East
- have the entire core healthy --- including Shump back on the floor
- and at the deadline basically add KMART, Camby & Sheed

I think 99% of us would have been thrilled --- the other 1% being the ongoing Lin whiners

Ignoring all the specifics of each bullet point does make them sound good. High five.

Hell, why be upset? We just scored a 35-year-old forward who has played 42 games in 2 years. It's a time for celebration.

This move could move Knicks from pretenders to contenders no doubt IMHO.

Only in the Knicks fanbase could you find people fickle enough to dislike trading the team's 13th man for a guy that is credited as being the catalyst for a playoff series win just a year ago and a second round pick. I swear some people need to whine and cry in order to be happy. That's just about the only excuse I can come up with for you and people like you, like this Falstaff dude.

Apparently Brewer and his agent asked Grunwald if he could look to trade him. So basically Grunwald did them a favor. This is the 2nd year in a row that Brewer has started out solid and then quickly petered out and ended up glued to the bench (same thing happened last season in Chicago under Thibodeau).

He did average 2 blocks in the first round and 1.7 blocks over the course of the playoffs last year...which is impressive because he played 17 mpg. So you know Ignoring all the specifics of your points, it does sound underwhelming. :P

I think he changes the team like Sheed changes the team--guys will play with more toughness and energy. He's one of those people who's play is contagious, just hope he has stayed ready.

I know right. Brew was straight cash from inwards of 28 feet and he was locking down everyone in his path. Cant believe we traded a future All Star for a bum lke Martin.

Wow can't believe people don't like this move... Problem is it needed to be done a month ago when sheed/camby first went down.
