Read these quotes. See the players' confidence building. See players developing right before your eyes. That is what a rebuild is all about. A new big three has announced its arrival - Wall, Crawford and Blatche. Big minutes - big productivity - big results. And wins, too. We are short-handed and so players are getting bigger minutes to show the world what they can do. We have two first round draft picks next off season. We have cap space. We are young. We have upside. We are becoming an exciting team to watch. The sun is shining out today. Admit it. It feels good to be Wizards fans watching the rebuild unfold, yes? I am so grateful to you all and I appreciate all of your positive emails. Thank you.

No, Ted.

Thank, YOU!!

Don't know if it's been mentioned here, but I think Collins will be a great mentor for Vesely. Jan is currently at 81 fouls and 88 points on the season. Collins has had 7 seasons in which he posted more fouls than points. I think sage veteran leadership is exactly what's needed to help Vesely complete the season right.

Maybe his past pursuits have come easier and now he's being challenged in a way he never has before.

People say it about players all the time, but why can't we say that about owners or GMs? Maybe he wanted to win when he came in, was excited, had tons of ideas, thought he would take over the league with his new style ownership, but now he's found it more difficult than he imagined. He's shrinking from the challenge rather than rising to it and doing something. He's tentative, lost, and clinging to what he's known rather than aggressively taking control of the situation for himself. The process has sapped him of confidence and the result is a string of excuses occasionally littered with proclamations that the franchise has turned a corner. This time, he's realized what was wrong and his latest turn is the one that will solve the problem.

He tells himself he still wants to win, but only just enough to fool himself into believing he's trying. In the meantime, he'll collect money and "try" to run a successful franchise.

Meet Ted Leonsis: the Andray Blatche of NBA owners.

I've been all over this subject on the Vesely is a bust thread. Needless to say, EG has come through again with another brilliant addition to the team.

Dagger! Maybe that's why they thought that last shot went in. From Section 400, row M, it looked good.

Way to clown the Wizards very own broadcasting team, Ted. :(

Since he took away their seats, maybe Ted could spring for two pairs of opera glasses so old Phil and Buck can actually see the game they're calling.

Perhaps $42.99 is not to steep a price to pay? 8-)

This is probably for the injury/medical staff thread but I couldn't find that. I'm at the MIT Sloan Analytics conference and Mark Cuban was making a specific point of using his medical staff as a differentiator. He made it very clear that he locked up his medical staff on longer contracts than his players and he overpays them in order to scare off other teams from poaching. Another example of organizational failure.

Who was responsible for drafting all of those younger players who suck? (And that doesn't include drafted players now long gone like Percherov)?

Oh, the guy who Ted gave an extension to.

And if he's crowing about off season moves, Jenarro Pargo waves hello to Ted.
