Mike Wallace in the building

I still stand by my earlier post about us overpaying for him but there's no doubt this is a huge signing.

Mike Wallace is a stud! Not often you can pickup a top 10 WR under the age of 27. He will allow Tannehill to grow and prove us with a deep threat we haven't had in a very long time. The age of Wallace will also allow him and Hartline to work together for years and once again Tannehill to gain familiar with his young WR's.

The LB core basiclly just became 4 years younger and the cap situtation next year just went down(Were paying for the LB's using the money we saved by cutting Dansby & Burrentt).

Love the off-season!

I personally can't justifying paying a wide receiver that type of money, who can't run every single route on the route tree. Wallace can't run a route outside of a slant or a 9 lol.

The Dolphins will ultimately go as far as Tannehill takes them.

Yeah, but your last sentence is the reality regardless of how much they were willing to pay Wallace. Having a guy like him on board is good start in seeing exactly who we got Tannehill. Hopefully, it all works out well.

Really need to get a TE thats solid to justify Wallace. Without one they can double coverage him all day.

yall saying wallace is overpaid dont know about jack. only reason he had a down year last year is because new o-coordinator, big ben was hurt for a couple of games and he had no training camp due to his holdout and he still had more touchdowns than our whole receiving corps combined. 12MIL a year is a lot but for someone his age and his skill set you have to pay a premium.

yucko on the dustin keller signing id rather draft ertz or eifert in the 2nd and get a cb like trufant in the first

dolphins moving on up

I'm betting TE is a draft target.

Probably but why not get a veteran who can help right now and draft a solid TE to learn from the vet?

REALLY like the moves so far. but the draft is going to make or break this offseason in many ways because we are spending $$$ we need big time talent at low cost, which is where those 5 picks in the first 3 rounds MUST be NAILED.

but so far..so good. Kudos to Ireland for cleaning up our cap and not being bashful on filling needs and strengthening our core.

Agreed, signing free agents isnt nearly as hard as it is to draft well. But I think a lot of this is Philbin doing work so I'm still optimistic.

I like Wallace, though overpaid

Thing is though, we went into the offseason with holes at wr, te, ot, cb, and a pash rusher

We filled a wr hole, and changed up linebackers, which is nice to get preemptive and cut some old guys, but it was not a need. We havent done anything at those other positions. Hell, for all the slack Smith gets, I would of liked him back and 3/18. Cromartie would of been nice at 1 year, 5 million.

We need to fill these holes.....

Well we have addressed WR,TE, and I believe we have also filled the need for a pass rusher internally. I expect them to move misi to DE and allow ordick to move inside to DT which gives us a very solid DL rotaion with Starks Soliai and Ordick along with Misi and Wake on the outside.

As for CB, OT and another pass rusher, I assume this is where our early picks will be spent. They may also look to bring in talent a RB b/c the exit of Reggie Bush leaves us in trouble there.

I really like the Keller signing though and I would like to see if Clay can develop into a difference maker this year.

My bro thinks they're gonna move Martin to LT, since finding a RT is easier, and they can prioritize CB, defensive line and pass rushing with the top picks.

That is the plan but they need much more depth at line anyway

Dumervil is a FA. Good pass rusher, from Miami originally, but I'm not sure how he fits our scheme. He's more of a 4-3 guy, no?

Thoughts? Could he work in a 3-4? Will we be interested?

The Dolphins actually run a 43. And on the contray Dumervil is more of a 34, OLB type, as opposed to a 43 hand in the ground type.

He's a good player and could make the adjustment to either system, though. It's hilarious how his agent pulled a Bill Duffy/Anthony Carter on him lol.
