JC Navarro: "Sometimes it happens"

Post#1 » by anuroc » Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:56 pm

That was his yesterdays answer to a journalist just after the game where he dropped 33 points on 13 shots against leader Real Madrid. He missed his first shot and then he just couldn't miss again

by the way, he is still not 100% healthy

He only played one season, and managed to average more points than any other Euro guard has in a rookie season.

He'd have done pretty good if he had decided to stay.

Wasn't on an especially good team, but to say he got abused defensively was an understatement. Scored a bit, but didn't shoot that well either (40% from the field, 36% from downtown). Simply too small (6'3", 170lb) to play the 2 spot in the NBA, and doesn't have the requisite PG skills/athleticism to play the 1 either. Probably would have stuck around for another season or two if he was a few years younger.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Maybe because he did not have enough plays run for him off the ball. He is great coming off of screens and moving without the ball.

He played 45 games 25+ minutes and in those games he averaged 15.3 ppg 3.5 rpg 3.0 apg. In those Memphis Grizzlies. I think he did good.

Because he plays in different league.

You sound like he was waived or smth. Although he obviously not a good NBA fit, where in Europe his physical shortcomings aren't that obvious, his ultimate NBA role has always been a 6th. man.
