Good for Dray. But I am ecstatic that he is gone. I think this is a win-win situation.

JaVale McGee, outspoken mother to get reality show

You wanted more JaVale McGee, you got him.

McGee is one of the NBA’s best athletes but is as capable of making a head-scratching decision on the court as he is making your jaw drop with this athleticism. His mother — a former college player at USC — is an outspoken defender of her son. McGee can stand is own ground, too.

So, that makes a television show for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), according the Hollywood Reporter. Thanks to CSNWashington.com for finding that.

McGee became synonymous with some of the problems with the Washington Wizards in past seasons — that was a team with a lot of talent and an unprofessional locker room. It’s part of the reason McGee was traded to the Nuggets, where even coach George Karl said, “He’s got to understand that lazy and crazy isn’t going to make it work.” However his teammates like Andre Iguodala has got his back.

McGee with his mother could make good television, JP Finlay says at CSNWashington.com. He explains why.

Pamela McGee made news in D.C. when JaVale played for the Wizards by defending her son’s actions on and off the court…. The term “knucklehead” became synonymous with those Wizards teams, to the point where Pamela McGee spoke with Washington Post columnist Mike Wise to defend her son and tell the world JaVale “is not a knucklehead.”

In reply, Charles Barkley was quoted at the time saying, “I’m so disappointed in JaVale McGee. He has not gotten better as a player. Now, he’s just doing stupid stuff. When your mom has to tell people you’re not a knucklehead, you probably are a knucklehead.”

That sounds like a reality show to me.

Thank God we traded him. What a distraction.

The show has potential but will probably never pan out.

When I last ran the numbers (Tuesday, I think), his PPA in Boston was 37. Poor shooting and a lot of turnovers. His usage is down in Boston.

The latest is that Crawford doesn't think he belongs in this thread.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wiz ... ashington/

Crawford is on his third team in three seasons, but he had the best games of his career in Washington, where the Wizards gave him the freedom to expand his game, play big minutes and take as many questionable shots as he wanted. The end was undeniably sour and could’ve possibly been avoided if Crawford was willing to accept a role as an instant offense sixth man. But now Crawford is denying that his stint with the Wizards ever happened.

The Wizards will have a reunion with Crawford on Sunday at TD Garden, but when reporters in Boston asked him about playing his former team, Crawford responded on Saturday with a question of his own.

“Who?” Crawford said, before adding, “I don’t recall playing for Washington.”

He is averaging 8.2 points and has one start in 22 appearances for the Celtics, who are currently holding on to the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. But while catching amnesia about his time with the Wizards, Crawford did acknowledge that the environment is much different in Boston.

“Just the seriousness it takes every day. The players we have are different. It’s a blessing to be here and learn from the best,” Crawford said.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

If I were Crawford I'd be pissed too. Another asset collected, wasted, and traded for nothing. Another example of how incompetent this team’s front office really is.

I'll also point out that McGee played just 14 minutes and posted 4 points on 1-3 shooting with 4 fouls and 3 turnovers while going against the injury-depleted Golden State front line.

People like to post in this thread when McGee has a good game and then bash EG. Let's give equal time here. McGee has been a failure during these playoffs.

Koufos - 1817 minutes
McGee - 1433 minutes

Wolves make it official hiring Flip Saunders to replace Kahn. Keep an eye on some of our assistant coaches to possibly re-join Flip, particularly if Adelman retires.

Here's hoping Flip is desperate to reunite with some of the players that were drafted during his tenure, and that when Kevin Loves demands a trade he sends him to his old buddies Randy and Ernie!

apparently Melo's wife had a funny and appropriate response to
JCraw's trash talk at the end of game 5.

If the Nix recover their mojo led by Melo, they'll have Crawford to thank.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22 ... 1-Incident

Nick Young Sued For Sexual Assault For 2011 Incident

What a piece of work.

This is why he and Dray had to go. I can only assume McGee wasn't far behind.

EG was like a dysfunction magnet. Gil, Nick, McGee, Dray, Critter. Other not so shape players but not as dysfunctional as that other group... Kwame, OP, DS.

So glad the team has turned the corner from these kind of player and instead they added players like Beal, Webster, Nene and Okafor. Hell even Temple was an impressive young man.

Kevin, Ves and Singleton may not have produced like we have wanted, but they aren't similar to those other types.

Seems that before Ted got here, EG had zero sense about evaluating players personalities.

I never got the Nick Young hate. I always liked the kid both on and off the court...I find these accusations incredibly hard to believe.

David Wingate had two women accuse him of drugging and date raping them, but neither resulted in a conviction. He played another 10 years and ended up playing 15 NBA seasons.

Nick Young is innocent until proven guilty. However, the details of the women bleeding sure do damn him in the court of public opinion. Social media being what it is he is already taking a beating worldwide. Nick could lose his shirt in legal fees and if a judgment goes against him. The charges sound like he is responsible and will lose big in court. His legal team is probably going to have to try and attack the character of his accuser and also discredit any date rape drug allegations. They are going to have to say it was consensual. OR that guy better settle because this is a money grab the woman is probably going to win.

No telling how this affects Nick Young's free agency but it sure cannot help.
Bye bye Beal.
