Re: Who should start: Budinger or Brewer
I've probably seen Budinger play more than almost anyone in this thread (pretty much every Houston game over the past 3-4 seasons) so I feel I can provide some input.
Even though I'm a huge fan of Chase, Brewer should be starting. Chase simply doesn't have the size/length to guard a lot of high calibre SF's in the league. How is he going to go up against guys like Durant, LeBron, Carmelo, Gay, George etc...? He is not a horrible defender, but he is a bit of a tweener and would be better suited playing against backup 2 or 3's while adding a scoring punch off the bench for the T-Wolves.
When Shane Battier was traded mid-season a few years ago, the Rockets defaulted to him as the starting SF and it just didn't work that well. The following season, he was one of the first guys off the bench and split time at SG and SF and had his best season to date. He was extremely effective as a shooting/dunking option and really helped solidify the second unit. That's his place in the league, a 20-25 MPG player that can help the bench at multiple positions.

Thank you for the post. I can say you convinced me.

Co-B should start. Defense with corner three. Would be a great 4th option on offense.
Bud can be a spot up shooter off the bench

Really wish Gay's contract was around 13-14 million so wolves could trade him for Barea and Dwill. He would be a great fit especially if he can rebound from his shooting woes. It would also allow Bud and Brewer to both come off the bench, I think they complement one another well

Re: Who should start: Budinger or Brewer
It is D-Wills spot to lose, so if he doesn't prove in training camp, pre-season and/or the first couple of months of the regular season that he's capable of playing that starting SF spot effectively, then Chase and Brewer are there to replace him.
How is D-Will going to score in the post when Pek and/or Love are there? Can D-Will shoot jumpers well enough to stay on the floor with the starting 5? Is D-Will quick enough to guard opposing SFs?
Chase has the advantage of being the better shooter from the perimeter. Brewer may be one of the best players in the NBA moving without the ball and finding scoring opportunities. Going to be an interesting battle.

Brewer must start surely?
Bud gives us a smart offensive minded option off the bench.
Brewer gives us a decent defensive option on the wings.
Easy call for me.

I feel as though bud will be the backup shooting guard primarily.

I think he's saying it's time to ramp up the rumor mill for Kevin Love trades.

Package Kevin Love and Rubio and I'd like to get Jeff Green and Rondo.
However this isn't enough coming back to us. Also Kevin Love's value is not very high coming off an injury plagued season.

I don't mind as long as he's still a sharp-shooter. We've got a bit of athleticism on the wing already with Williams, Bud and now Brewer.
