I wish some reporter would ask Wall and others what took place to cause such a big improvement in shooting %.

I like to think of it as the "Beal Effect." All jokes aside, I do recall a comment by Bradley after one of John's recent shooting performances that seemed to suggest that Beal had been working with or talking to Wall about his jumper.

I also read where Wittman has been getting on John about making his shot release point more consistent and at the peak of his jump. And Wall mentioned something about getting help with his shot from Sam I Am.

So I guess it's a "Family Affair" that Temple may also be benefitting from.

One thing that is interesting about Temple is his quick release.

You didn't even need to be an ex-NBA player to see that Wall would almost always be on his way down in his jump when he would release a shot. Crazy if Wittman and Cassell are really just getting on Wall about correcting that. You could be right about Beal having some effect though.

Temple going on a min tear over the last 5 games.

34 minutes, 8 FGA .450% FG, .667 FG3%, 4 RB, 3.6 AST, 2 STL 9.4 pts.

Entire March numbers don't look back either.

I said it before, Temple should be the 2nd PG with Price backing him up.

Temple has earn a roster spot and regular minutes. Team need to add a pesky small PG like Pierre Jackson and another reliable shooter at SG. Maybe Barbosa sticks around.

My UTR player for the Wizards

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wi ... story.html

With Wall expected to lead a fast-paced, wide-open offense, the Wizards have made it a priority to surround the speedy point guard with more shooters. Temple spent most of this summer focusing on his perimeter shooting so that he could be on the receiving end of a few passes in the corners.

“I do feel confident in my shots. I feel comfortable in the spots that I’m going to get shots,” Temple said.

Last season, Temple shot just 32.5 percent from three-point range, but he connected on 41.1 percent (21 of 51) in the last two months of the regular season.

Temple had developed a reputation for being a shooter in the D-League, where he made 39.2 percent of his three-point attempts. While representing the Wizards in a three-point shooting contest in Rio de Janeiro, Temple emerged victorious and brought his towel-waving teammates to their feet.

I would be fine with temple getting more backup PG minutes at this point. Maynor needs to step it up.

Belated bump since Temple picked-up his player option gift, valuable burn is right around the corner.

Both are tremendous defenders...I'd say it's an equal trade.

Not as good as Temple for Gobert, but if they're going to play hardball, I guess that'll do. Another PF who can hit from long to offset Dudley's absence and keep Nene (hopefully) at backup C, while freeing a roster spot.

Greetings, Wiz dudes, Jazz fan here. Probably gonna have to pass on the Gobert trade, but the Booker version may have some possibilities. Anyone wanna give a quick rundown of Temple as a player? You guys don't seem too hesitant to part with him, so maybe that speaks for itself. :) TIA

Temple is basically a self check on offense but a better than average defender who knows his role and doesnt try to do too much. Are you telling us that is not enough to get Gobert?

Temple is a nice 5th guard. He's a very good defender and a pretty poor offensive player. You don't really want him as a regular rotation player but he can be a stopgap at the PG, SG or SF if there are injuries; and he's good late in games as a situational defensive sub. He's got a great attitude and knows his role.

He showed dramatic improvement on his 3-point shot last season. If that wasn't a fluke, he might be rotation-worthy as a 15 mpg backup SG.

Temple has fringe-level NBA skills in certain areas (mainly his jumpshooting and overall scoring game), but he is a good defensive point guard and he's a high character vet in the locker room.

When I heard that the Jazz were interested in Temple following Exum's injury, I figured they feel he can emulate what Exum was doing defensively while not needing to be a contributor on offense (same as Dante)
