Like I said earlier, you know that during road games, teammates end up being roommates at hotels right? When Young and Russel are assigned a room, is Young supposed to say "No he's too young, give me someone old, give me Kobe"?

Beyond the fact that Russell recorded Young secretly, that video has now been released to the public. It'd be one thing to prank your friend, video tape it, delete it (still incredibly stupid) but the fact the video has come out means no one will ever trust D'Angelo Russell again.

There is no comparison to this (i.e what Kobe said about Shaq wasn't even close to this) which almost tells you how stupid it was Russell did it. What logical person would ever trust Russell again? Maybe you can just play basketball with him but what about the other countless hours you have to spend with a person when you're on a NBA team with them?

Even the Tony Parker/Brent Barry thing wasn't this bad because at least in that case, while people probably lost a lot of respect for Parker as a person, the rest of the Spurs likely didn't feel they couldn't befriend Tony.

Defending Russell is some bizarre, otherworldly homerism. There's just no way to defend what he did.

And it's not about "snitching" or "bro code" or any of that BS. It's about Russell invading Nick Young + Iggy's privacy (without their consent) and the broadcasting it to the world. This is as low as it gets.

We don't know what what Nick + Iggy's arrangement is, and it doesn't matter, but we absolutely know that Russell has no right to secretly film Nick Young talking about *anything* and then sharing it with the world. That Iggy is dragged into it makes it even worse and even more despicable. Now she has to deal with the blowback caused by an immature punk like DAR.

As far as FA goes, it's not like LA was able to attract any notable free agents this past summer, I wasn't expecting them to this summer either, so the impact shouldn't be as large as some think.

I am not so sure about your last statement. Obviously, the A-list free agents (e.g. Kevin Durant) would not go to the Lakers regardless of the situation but guys like Barnes, Whiteside, Batum, etc. would have considered L.A. Now there is a bad atmosphere that is lingering around LA that will lead these guys to re-think their options. And this has nothing to do with Nick Young and everything to do with D'Angelo Russell.

It would have been an entire story if Kobe had told the cops in his rookie year. However, Kobe was already a superstar to begin with. I can't see how D'Angelo Russell can remain there now. Nobody will ever trust him again.

The other person I can see being pissed is Ben Simmons. There is every chance he might go to the Lakers and one of the reasons was that D'Angelo is a friend of his from Montverde. Now Simmons could end up drafted by LA and his best friend traded to another team before he even got to play with him.

How is this not awesome? Two people who abuse the trust of people close to them and are both outed. It's awesome. Babble on about justification if you want but justification isn't an issue. Nick Young has nothing to complain about. Russell is probably the victim here as he's a product of his environment and watching Nick and probably others abusing trust left, right and centre he probably thought abusing trust was the right thing to do.

The part about his whole team isolating is false I think. This video came out like a week ago and I've seen Russell in the gym with Clarkson and others on JC's snapchat since then. They seemed fine to me. Maybe some of them isolated him, but the whole team I think is false.

The benefit I see in all this is hopefully now Russell can stop hanging out with Nick, he's a bad influence on the rookies imo. He needed to be let go a long time ago. Not saying what Russell did was right, but there's no good that can come out of hanging out with a guy that calls himself Swaggy P.
