I was pleased that the Cubs picked him up, but I'm disappointed that Kawasaki didn't make the roster. He is one of my favorite players. He brought a lot of fun to the Toronto fans, and they weren't so happy when he was released.

In spite of his antics and his crazy interviews, he's a good player. He's a switch hitter and plays multiple infield positions. If he makes the team this year the Chicago fans are in for a great time. Maddon made a comment that he might be brought up sometime this season.

Anyone else familiar with him?

Just with the Jays and the Cubs in ST.

He is good, just not good enough to make the opening day roster. He'll be a good call up when someone gets hurt for the Cubs. You can only carry 25. Good problem to have for the Cubs with having guys like Kawasaki & Shane Vitorino at the ready when needed.
