Team of the day: Oklahoma City

Front Office:
I don't see any reason to make changes. Presti is great, and clearly adding Donovan wasn't a huge upgrade, but at the same time he is a good coach.

Roster:
I see the top priority being to add a high-efficiency shooting guard that doesn't demand the ball. Also, I'd like to see more balance in the 2nd unit. In this scenario (and in real life) I expect Durant to return on a 1+1 deal...so OKC won't have cap space, but they will have the MLE and BAE. That means we will have to find our starting shooting guard through trade.

Trade:
OKC Trades: Cam Payne, Enes Kanter
OKC Receives: Danny Green, Brandan Wright

MEM Trades: Brandan Wright
MEM Receives: Enes Kanter

SAS Trade: Danny Green
SAS Receive: Cam Payne

I think this is an interesting deal all the way around.

Oklahoma City gets the perfect wing player, and a backup 4/5 that can easily be inserted into the starting lineup. Both players are highly efficient, and would fit around the Durant/Westbrook core.

Memphis, meanwhile, is looking at a situation where they have very few players with upside or locked up long term. Kanter is a great replacement for Zbo as he tails off, and with the rising cap his contract is much more palatable.

San Antonio, IMO, needs to add another player to their core to be a championship caliber team, and that only happens by moving Green or Parker. With Durant resigning in OKC, the next logical choice is Al Horford, and I imagine that he would be ecstatic to sign with the Spurs and a perfect fit for them stylistically. Furthermore, Payne already looks like he will develop into a nice player and is a solid potential replacement for Parker.

Free Agency:
We are going to let Waiters and Foye walk, and use our MLE to sign Mario Chalmers, the perfect backup to Westbrook and an excellent 3 and D player.

Final Roster:

Steven Adams/Mitch McGary/Brandan Wright
Serge Ibaka/Brandan Wright/Nick Collison
Kevin Durant/Andre Roberson
Danny Green/Anthony Morrow/Andre Roberson
Russel Westbrook/Mario Chalmers

Honestly love the trade, and that's an interesting spot for Kanter. If he can play w/ Gasol its got some potential for sure, and the Spurs part I know I've tried but they didn't seem to like. I think the value on it is good but they seemed to value Green more.

Love this.

I would actually be totally down for that. But I don't think the Spurs let Green go for Payne, and I don't think Chalmers will sign for MLE.

I just picked SAS because I think they'll try to move someone in order to make a run at Horford and Durant, and I doubt there is a better trade than this out there for them. But if they weren't interested, Robert Covington would be a great alternative. Basically I think my framework is good as long as they can find a good fit like Green.

Who would sign him for more? He's never been a "special" player and he's coming off of a major injury. Maybe I'm wrong, I just don't see a huge market for him.

I'd want to keep waiters if the money fits so if charmers gets reinjured we have another ball handler
