The last paragraph in the link. Would you go after Sale and pair him with Teheran? Could speed up the rebuild. White Sox reportedly want 4 top prospects. I'd do it IF it didn't cost us Swanson, Albies, Newcomb, Allard, Toussaint. I'd do P Aaron Blair, P Lucas Sims, P Manny Banuelos, 3b Rio Ruiz and OF Ronald Acuna for Sale and lefty reliver Dan Jennings.

That's 3 pitching prospects in our top 10 prospects. I believe the Braves value Newcomb, Allard, Toussaint, Jenkins, Fried and newly drafted Ian Anderson, more than they value Blair, Sims, Banuelos and that's not to take away from those 3. Just my opinion, I wouldn't cry over losing those 3.

Grab a vet starter in the offseason on a 1-2 yr deal, IE Matt Moore, Doug Fister, Clay Bucholz, Gio Gonzalez, Kris Medlin, Edinson Volquez.

Sale
Teheran
Wisler
Folty
Vet starter

I wouldn't do it.

it would take at least 4 of our top prospects, which includes Swanson or Ozzie + some of our pitchers.

I wouldn't do it at that point either, I would with the package that I put together in the OP.

Absolutely not. Sale is a superb lefty but with the way the market is set for pitchers this year, it would cost the farm. Sale is the best pitcher on the market, and there's no way they wouldn't demand at least one of Swanson/Albies + one of Allard/Newcomb + another couple of high level prospects.

It's just not worth sacrificing the farm.

I'd love to have Chris Sale but not at that price.
I believe Swanson would be a must for Chicago.
Anyways, here is Sale's contract numbers according to rotoworld.com

Chris Sale:
2016: $9.15 million,
2017: $12 million,
2018: $12.5 million club option ($1 million buyout),
2019: $13.5 million club option

I don't think Chicago even looks at a package that doesn't include at least two of our top four prospects, especially with the bidding war that would be sure to break out.
