Definitely an upgrade over Hodgson because he has an actual gameplan, not that that's saying much. I've not been Fat Sam's biggest fan in the past but I think he's a solid choice here, particularly when compared with the likes of Brendo, Pardew, Klinsmann, etc.

Mate, Sam Allardyce is a proven winner. He won the Irish league with Limerick in 92.

I think it's a good choice too. He's charismatic and will have a good rapport with the players. I still think they should've picked up Redknapp in 2012 for that reason.

Reminds me a bit of the Venables hire in that regard. The players loved him.

Yeah and he's got a decent football brain on him. I just want him to build the same culture that he had for Bolton/West Ham/Sunderland where it seems like all the players got along, I feel like with Hodgson all the players just stuck to their cliques. Hopefully he can bring them all together with like you said his charisma.

Great to see a manager who wears his heart on his sleeve.

This is what English football is about. We're not Spain or France.

We're about pashun.

He's lost a lot of weight too.

Drinkwater is playing out of his skin at the moment. Allardyce should build the team around him.

big Sam announces the major shakeup in his first team.

More star jumps before kick off.

WTF?

He goes on about picking on form and then doesn't start the best English midfielder for the past 18 months.

Alli gets dropped and no, it's not Drinkwater who comes in but Henderson.

And to lead the attack a striker who hasn't scored in his last 9 competitive outings and stunk the place up for England over the summer.

oh well, what can we expect really.

Nevermind all that, Joe Hart is still starting. :noway:

He stunk it up worse than anyone at the Euros, and that's quite a tall order.

So what does that say about Turkish football. Inler recruited by Besiktas and he was the no.6 central midfielder behind Drinky and perhaps the no. 11 midfielder.

He isn't our best midfielder, but he is in good form at the moment. I didn't think he'd be as effective without Kante alongside him, but I was wrong about that.

Memories of the Euros.

Boring rubbish.

Rose having a nightmare.

Drinkwater is needed.

This team will be rubbish even with Drinkwater. We have no cutting edge. Not that I don't think he should be in, more that I don't think what he brings will solve our problems.

Sterling and Lallana work hard but offer no end product. Kane is continuing his abysmal form from the summer, and Rooney is a shadow of his former self. At this point I'd just start trying anyone: Andy Carroll, Noble, Shaw, try and find something that fits. I'd like to see Rashford getting significant minutes at some point in these qualifiers too.
