Good Armstead.... get healthy with plenty of time to spare.

This season is done for. NO need to play him or any other "core" players with high injuries

Ian Rapoport:

Sources: #Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski suffered what is believed to be a punctured lung on Sunday vs. #Seahawks. But could miss just one game.

He would miss the 49ers game this week.

Adam Schefter:

Being told Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has a chest injury - not a punctured lung - that is considered "not overly serious."

Adam Schefter:

49ers WR Torrey Smith, questionable for Sunday vs Patriots due to shoulder injury, is unlikely to play, per source.

49ERS FEAR SERIOUS INJURY FOR REID

http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/ward-sustains-concussion-49ers-fear-serious-injury-reid

Also, 49ers free safety Eric Reid sustained an injury that could impact his availability for the remainder of the season. Reid sustained an injury to his right arm late in the game. He was seen leaving Levi's Stadium with his arm in a sling. The fear is Reid sustained a torn biceps, which would require season-ending surgery. He is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.

Dr. David J. Chao:

I never want to be right when it comes injury coming true. Typically needs surgery, but might be possible to put it off. #EricReid @49ers

Usually the clinical exam is accurate. #EricReid right distal biceps rupture. Typically surgery, but #Suggs is playing & putting it off.

Reid done for the year... terrible injury-ridden year.

Reid was actually having a pretty solid season IMO (although you don't always see the safety on TV, so it's hard to tell).

At least this will force the team to either play Tartt or move Ward to safety where he belongs.

Matt Barrows:

Eli Harold was dealing w/ a foot injury today, didn't practice. #49ers only two fully healthy OLBs right now: Ahmad Brooks & Tank Carradine.

Nathan Jahnke:

DeForest Buckner has played in 70+ defensive snaps in each of the last 6 games he played in. For a DL, that's crazy.

He also had 67 snaps in week 2. 51 in week 1 and 57 in week 3. Sad.

Rand Getlin:

I'm told the #49ers released RB Kelvin Taylor from their practice squad today. Was the team's 6th round pick last year.

Replaced him with former Bears/Browns/Ravens/Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert. Former UDFA out of Purdue. The type of kid that's very easy to root for but was very, very raw coming into the NFL. Very well spoken. He won a gold medal in the 60-meter (6.63) and 200-meter (20.73) during the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2014.

He played both RB and WR in college but didn't really ever find the right spot or fit for himself on offense. He was one of the best return men in the country throughout his years, though. His freshman year he had the best return average in the country.

I'm not sure how he's progressed since coming into the NFL but it was always going to take some time for him if he was going to be a RB IMO. He was an athlete playing RB rather than somebody that was a legitimate running back who had any feel for the game.

49ers Chip Kelly remembers late father, reinforces commitment to 49ers
Coach ruled out returning to Oregon, would not leave 49ers in-season

His father’s obituary, which ran in the Portland Press Herald, noted Paul Kelly’s four family rules: “1. Have fun. 2. Stick together.3. Love mom. 4. &%$*# dad.” It also mentioned how he was a “truly devoted San Francisco 49ers fan.”

I really hope he misses the game so we have that much more of a chance at losing.
