Understandably it's highway robbery for NOLA, but aren't these two guys going to be hogging the ball up inside too much?

They're the best frontcourt the NBA has seen in decades.

I think both are willing passers when they need to be (am I wrong?)

I think they fit fairly well from the 8-10 combined games I get to watch of them they seem like they could compliment each other very well

They both have the ability to attack from the faceup and attack closeouts. They will fit fine together offensively and defensively. They will just need more balance

It could be the perfect nostalgic combating to the 3-heaviness that's taking over the league by storm. But then again I could be talking out of my ass.

I think teams aren't going to be able to outshoot golden state. Makes sense to play your own game and try and dominate them on the inside.

It's going to be a great duo. Both of them have 3PT range, are super skilled inside and outside, and capable passers. They're going to slaughter teams.

All they need is a halfway competent point guard to set it all up, and when healthy they have that in Jrue.

The 2017 version of Tim Duncan and David Robinson "Twin Towers".

Unfortunately there are no Manu Ginobli or Tony Parkers around them. Just a bunch of Avery Johnsons and Vinny Del Negroes...

Biggest weakness of the Warriors is their front court. Pels have the strongest front court in the league. This could be interesting.

Two guys in their primes who are both all NBA first team talents... damn it will be a shame if they make it work. They are honestly as well rounded as you would want from two legit big men that you could imagine.

I think those two are going to compliment each other great. If only NOLA had some more shooters around Davis and Cousins they'd be scary as hell. If I was Golden State without any size in the front court I would be hoping they don't squeeze into the 8th spot. Not saying NOLA would beat them but I could think of 3-4 better teams to match up in the 1st round.

They both have outside games and should fit together just fine.
Worst case scenario is that you split them up half the time and let Cousins eviscerate the league's backup centers.

2nd best team next year behind the Warriors. Book it.

Are DeMarcus Cousins & Anthony Davis even a good fit?

Post#19 » by Paradise » Mon Feb 20, 2017 5:46 am

Both are unselfish big men capable of averaging 5 assists a night at their max talent. One is 23 and the best PF in the league. The other is 26 and just entering his prime.

It's going to work. The question is can they turn it into something sustainable. I don't think anyone can argue this is the best looking frontcourt we've seen in decades. People compare the Duncan/Robinson duo but the difference is both of these guys are not coming into a winning organization.

Cousins is a southern kid. He's going to be closer to home and it's not even his franchise. He's not the face of the team. He's not the team captain. It's AD's team.

The Pelicans are now a box office attraction, folks. Right up there with the Warriors, Cavs and Clippers.

AD is far from a ball hog. He doesn't need the ball to cause teams a ton of trouble.

Ultimately, we are replacing Ajinca and Asik with Demarcus Cousins. I like our chances of improving.
