ROMO RETIRES!

Post#1 » by AthleticAffairs » Tue Apr 4, 2017 5:27 pm

Tony Romo announced today that he will retire from the NFL due to his health/past injuries. Many teams were interested in aquiring Romo before this announcement. He has verbally agreed to sign with CBS as their #1 color commentator, replacing Phil Simms.

Good for him. I think he's making the right choice with his injury history, etc. Glad he's replacing Phil Simms.

i'm kind of surprised at this, but it makes sense for him - so good for him and good luck to him on the television

It would have looked so weird seeing him in any other jersey, honestly.

Plus he would risk tarnishing his legacy, by possibly staying healthy for an entire season

The Romo 13... QB's taken in the 2000 draft instead of Romo

Round 1

- Carson Palmer (Bengals)
- Byron Leftwich (Jaguars)
- Kyle Boller (Ravens)
- Rex Grossman (Bears)

Round 2

- Dave Ragone (Texans)
- Chris Simms (Bucs)

Round 4

- Seneca Wallace (Seahawks)

Round 5

- Brian St. Pierre (Steelers)

Round 6

- Drew Henson (Texans)
- Brooks Bollinger (Jets)
- Kliff Kingsbury (Patriots)

Round 7

- Gibran Hamdan (Redskins)
- Ken Dorsey (49ers)

I'm not sure at this point if this thread is fitting at this point. Despite accepting a position at CBS, Romo has not officially done his retirement papers. Looks like he is leaving his options open to me and I don't like it a damn bit. This is disrespectful to Prescott and the rest of the team in my opinion and creates bull and drama that is not needed when your trying to move on and build a new team for the future. I just wish he would move on and get the hell out of here. He continues to act like Jerry's adopted son and frankly, I find it all a bit sickening. I just don't understand this love affair a lot of Cowboys have with this guy. Its not like he is a legend or anything. The way they are rolling out the red carpet for this guy you would actually think it was Roger Staubach, or Larry Bird or Michael Jordan. Please, retire. Get the hell out of Dallas please. Dak isn't going to get hurt next year, which is what you are basically hanging around for.

Good thing I have the day off. I think I will have a cocktail. I wish Otis and Mr. B lived around the corner. I would stop by and have a beer with them and vent.
