People also seem to forget that Lopez was one of the best box out guys in the league. I'm sure a skill like that wasn't important since we had a need for a guy who's like a caged animal.
Also people keep saying Jackson don't trade draft picks. Well he did it in that trade or is giving up on players after one year acceptable nowadays?

Now that you typed that I just realized that using "sweetners" to get us out of semi-bad contracts seems to be a Jackson thing.

Thing is, RoLo is in no way a semi-bad contract. He's unbelievable value for a starting C (even for a backup C, that's not pushing it - look at the Wizards). I could be wrong, but weren't the Bulls looking to trade Rose anyway?

The pressure is on the front office:
1. They have to draft well.
2. They have to move Melo and get something decent in return.
3. They have to make sure the coaching staff has it together.
Let's AIR out all the venom and being it altogether.

Rolo was the sweetner in that case, Calderon was the bad contract.

Ahhhhh, ok. My mistake.

Not to say I think people should double down on their opinions. It's ok to change your mind about a player. But this is why I don't get so vocal about player projections and stats and all this crap. You can only be so right, so many times. I'd rather just enjoy the unpredictableness of it all.
I hate when somebody says "so and so is trash", or "his ceiling is ___". Even the experts don't know that. And even players who have had crappy seasons can improve and turn out some good season statistically.
There are no experts on these forums.
I'd rather predict the Knicks win 50 games and be wrong than predict Porzingis will be a bust and look like a jackass.

Pretty sure the Bulls traded Jose, along with Denver's 2018 second and Chicago's 2019 second for the rights to a 2011 second rounder who will never come over.

Probably not, considering this will be the first documentary about a basketball player ever.
Name one about a 21 year old nba player on a non playoff team after two seasons. He had a porzingod documentary last year. I'll wait nimrod
Clearly wouldn't have happened without the super strong Ohio market.
He was drafted in 2003 and the trailer is 2013, you've been defeated in combative banter.

More Than a Game came out in 2009, not 2013.
Anyways, didn't Ben Simmons have a documentary made about him? KP would have gotten a documentary made regardless of where he ended up if he had produced the same way, IMO. Media market doesn't matter in terms of sponsorships, getting publicity, etc as it once did. If you're a great player, you're going to be recognized as one regardless of where you play.

I'd much rather have Holiday, the 2nd round pick, and that salary slot open than Lopez. Yes we signed Noah, but those are two different moves. I just find it funny that when we signed Lopez people were up in arms. Now he's gone and he's such a massive asset we don't have anymore. He was so good this year he lead the Bulls to a .500 season.
No.
People are upset at the domino effect.
You trade Rolo for a score first PG that doesn't fit and is playing for a contract.
To address this imagery hole now at center because you traded Lopez you sign Joakim to a 4 year, fuqed up deal for even more money that you were paying Lopez.
I think more than anything, it's a bad one on Phil because he/his staff didn't recognize what they had in WHG and KOQ, being enough to hold down C. Then that cash goes to depth.
Or to use in a trade to garner assets by taking on a bad contract or facilitating a deal
Or to sign and extend someone (not sure if Holiday would of been a candidate)
Or just rolled over
I hope they use their cap space towards these goals this summer if they can't land a big fish / RFA who's going to grow with the young nucleus.
Locking long term into another vet role player isn't moving the needle

It was released in 2009. Do you think they sent camera crews back in time? I mean where do you think they got the footage from? Actors?

Movie release in 2009 and he was drafted 2003. A movie about a 6 year veteran who at the time was MVP versus a fourth draft pick, rookie of the year RUNNER up , non playoff team LOSER. Just admit defeat, no fancy gif needed
