What talent do they really have other than Giannis?

I don't see any other player on their roster capable of being better than Porter or even Beal.

Only teams that scare me are Warriors and Cavs. We need to get lucky to get to their levels.

I just think that the Simmons vs LBJ vs Giannis storyline is interesting. Reminds me of GHill vs Jordan vs Penny back then.

I think Washington, assuming they retain Porter, are a young big away from being the best longterm threat.

I'm hoping Washington gets a good young big to complete their team. I feel like they've done a really good job of building a team organically by drafting and retaining the right players. Their only big mistake was the Mahinmi contract. If they can clear Gortat's contract, they might be able to get a legit young big to complete their team. That being said, as long as LeBron is in the East, no one takes the crown until he's retired.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Downtin
Batum/Oubre/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

Parker was having a good year until he went down. I know you're not a fan of his though and lower on him than most.

Don't forget Middleton and a big MAYBE on Thon Maker.

Their second best player this year was Greg Monroe off the bench.

Middleton is an okay player. Jabari is an iso scorer that can't defend and Kidd doesn't even want. Snell and Brogdon are C players. Thon Maker didn't establish anything other than being able to block shots this year. I think you're overrating their core immensely.

Giannis is a trump card, but not much else there to get excited about. The core trio of Wall/Porter/Beal is way better than any three Milwaukee can form.

The Celtics just got a gift. Celtics are winning this series now. Ugh.

So the endgame with all this Celtic posturing would be Melo, Horford and a 30 year old 5'8" PG? Yeah, that would be great for us.

Parker is a really good young player, but if we are talking about true difference makers then Giannis is going to be the one carrying them. He is a true superstar. Parker is a potential allstar player, but he isn't there yet, and he may or may not get there.

It's like they pulled off a steal of a trade to get all of these great assets for aging players, then turned around and traded them for even less iconic aging players

Man this has got to be fake news, no way are the Celtics that dumb

Yup. As dumb as they are (or just unlucky), they aren't THAT dumb.

Lebron treats his body like a cathedral. I wouldnt be surprised if he had a very graceful decline and was effective well into his late 30s. He's going to age like Duncan. He's still a fantastic passer with great size if/when he loses his freakish explosion. Its going to be fun watching him fend off the would-be usurper in Giannis for the next 5 years. Hopefully Simmons enters that conversation as well.

Even if Boston does come back to win, they will get smoked in the next round by Washington.

In fact, Boston winning a round might encourage them to keep IT around and try to build it around him. And that helps Philly, as Boston is never winning anything with a 5'6" SG as their centerpiece.

Watched the Pacers-Cavs again, just notice the Pacers kept forcing LBJ to drive left but LBJ just kept on abusing their D hahaha

FWIW, I don't think Celtics FO really think IT and Horford are long term pieces. They are hitting two birds with one stone. Bigger picture really is to nail those Nets picks. While they keep their fanbase entertain with their short term talent. Horford signing I believe was for KD (Ainge was high with ever since). Which flopped.

That said, win or no win. I expect them to be rational enough to not get carried with what mediocre talent they have while still keeping their eyes on the big picture.

I feel like Marcus Smart and Jae Crowder are going to be the odd men out come next year.

Unless if Jaylen Brown isn't even close to Jae Crowder, but I feel like they have to at least give Brown more minutes. He is basically the Celtics version of Jahlil atm. Lot of pressure to prove he was a worthy pick.

Every time I try to picture what the Celtics are trying to do my head hurts. Such a hot mess of conflicting players and contracts

I'm sure they'll try to trade Horford and IT in the offseason and teams will trip over each other to give up their studs for the Celtics good players.
