Or they will trade, but may get far less than anticipated (maybe just a second-round pick this year?).

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels

Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson has heard from "adamant" evaluators over the last week that the Browns, 49ers, Bears and Bills are targeting UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky.

These are all usual suspects when it comes to Trubisky. Breaking them down, we would be surprised to see Trubisky at No. 1 to Cleveland, but No. 2 to the 49ers wouldn't completely shock -- though San Francisco is reportedly looking to trade down from No. 2. There has been less talk of Trubisky to the Bears and considerably more about Deshaun Watson to the Bills. Expect to hear plenty more adamant evaluators over the next week. Then, showtime.

If true the possibility of Garrett sliding is realistic.

Owner and the front office have more weight when it comes to personnel moves over the coaching staff and the owner especially usually gets what he wants if he really insists on it.

The other outcome is Cleveland looks to trade for #2 pick as well and keep everyone in the building happy.

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky is "still under serious consideration by the Browns at No. 1."

Talk of Trubisky to the Browns at No. 1 simply refuses to die. These rumblings kicked off in earnest on April 11, when ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that there were "split opinions" as to whether to select Myles Garrett -- viewed as close to a consensus No. 1 throughout the process -- or Trubisky. Earlier this week, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora dumped even more fuel on this divided fire, passing along word that Hue Jackson and the Browns' coaching staff was "all in" on Garrett, but that the front office was leaning toward Trubisky. With the Cleveland Plain Dealer's fresh report that Trubisky remains in play for the Browns at No. 1, it is becoming increasingly difficult to just dismiss this as idle talk. We still ultimately think that Browns will take Garrett. One other note from Cabot's report -- she was told "don't be surprised" if the 49ers select Trubisky at No. 2, something that the Browns are almost certainly factoring into their decision.

I'm happy to hear this news. Not because I want Trubisky, but because i think it's a strategic ploy to force Cleveland's hands into drafting Mitchel with their 1st overall pick. Causing Garrett to fall on our laps.

If Cleveland wants Trubisky, trade for their #12, #33 and #1 next year.

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Player

According to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, the 49ers (No. 2), Titans (No. 5), Jets (No. 6) and Bills (No. 10) have all made calls about moving down in the first round.

Meanwhile the Browns, who can't seem to choose between Myles Garrett and Mitchell Trubisky, are looking to trade up from No. 12. The Browns can potentially get both players by moving up, though they'd have to come up with a pretty enticing trade package to accomplish that. In a draft with few sure things, we're sure to see a few trades go down before Thursday.

Smells like a smokescreen to me.

For SF right now it's only to their benefit to throw out they are interested in QBs. They want to push the Browns to take Mitch or they want to spook a team into trading for the #2 pick.

The Browns are doing the 9ers a huge favor with all the reports of them being undecided about who to pick at #1. Because if the Browns do take Garrett, other teams knowing the Browns could move up from #12 could want the #2 pick to be certain they get their QB and could potentially create a bidding war for it.

Which is refreshing because that means the front office has successfully made sure nobody knows who they'll take which puts them in a power position when it comes to baiting someone to trade for #2 or scare the Browns into taking Mitch at #1.

Unlike the previous two drafts where people knew months in advance they wanted Armstead and Buckner at least now we can hope we have a front office that can keep it's mouth shut and disguise their draft plans.

This is great news!! Every team that is currently slotted to pick before Cleveland's second first round pick, and are threatening to draft a QB is essentially forcing Cleveland to rethink their stance with their #1 overall pick:

Deshaun Watson - QB - Tigers

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell reports that the Saints are considering taking a quarterback in the first round.

The Saints hold picks Nos. 11 and 32, the latter coming to them as part of their Brandin Cooks trade to the Patriots. Writes Campbell, "Sources say that Payton likes all four of the top quarterback prospects." However, he adds that " it sounded as if it was more unlikely than likely." While a rookie quarterback would have the luxury of developing behind Drew Brees, the team is also desperately in need of defensive help after ranking 27th in total defense for the past campaign.

Love all the talk about Trubisky. That #2 pick could become a source of legit bidding, after all. Or we could see Garrett drop. I guess the big question could be whether we could pass on Garrett (if Cleveland goes Trubisky first) to move back a few spots, get an additional #2 this year, and another #1 next year. If the Browns take Garrett, my vote is still to take the best trade offer we get.

I saw that Warren Sap says Garrett takes off a lot of plays and makes maybe 4 plays a game.

Herman Edwards explained that Garrett is asked to do a lot so he's not blazing off the edge trying to get to the QB on every play.

He also said Garrett does have a lot of interests, though it wasn't clear if that made him a better or worse prospect.

I'm so hoping that we trade out. Cleveland is a dream partner but at this point I'd consider other trade partners too.

If we stay at #2 then I'm really starting to believe that Trubisky is the guy. I'm going to have to accept that possibility but I'm not quite there yet.
