got jaleel johnson with our first pick in the fourth round, which i am a big fan of. provides some much needed dt depth. jaleel isn't a dominate run stopper but he is really good at rushing the passer from that spot

second pick was ben gedeon a linebacker from michigan, i'm not familiar with him

we've got a couple guys on defense but it feels like we've really leaned heavily on offense this draft. i mean it needs it but maybe a couple more guys on the other side of the ball with all these 7th rounders

Last 3 picks went defense. I think we hit the positions we needed to and Cook was a 1st round talent. Hopefully we have a couple contributors this year, because we need them.

worm, do you think they should have gotten another offensive tackle? i know they got the guys in free agency but our depth at the position is still tj clemmings

Yeah, probably. We needed a lot. Multiple linemen, lb, dt and a rb. We hit most of those positions, but we could have used another tackle.

here are the udfa signings so far:

Tommy Armstrong, QB, Nebraska (Tryout, likely moving to WR)
Tashawn Bower, DE/OLB, Louisiana State
Dylan Bradley, DE, Southern Mississippi
Aviante Collins, OL, Texas Christian
Derrick Griffin, WR, Texas Southern (Tryout)
Caleb Kidder, DE, Montana
Wes Lunt, QB, Illinois
Jack Nelson, QB, Winona State (Tryout)
Terrell Newby, RB, Nebraska
Josiah Price, TE, Michigan State
Horace Richardson, CB, Southern Methodist
Richie Sampson, S, Coastal Carolina
R.J. Shelton, WR, Michigan State
Austin Tennessee, DB, Stevenson
Eric Wilson, LB, Cincinnati

armstrong is a good athlete but its for the best he not be a qb i think
lunt is actually a pretty decent qb and was overlooked in the big ten because his team was so bad
newby was solid at nebraska but nothing really spectacular

that's about all i know, not familiar with the msu pass-catchers and don't know anybody not in the big ten

this is a real bummer, since the league went to a 16 game schedule in 1978 the vikings have never had a season where the same quarterback started all 16 games two years in a row

a full season has only happened 9 times, and none throughout the entire 80s

Not that surprising, although I would though Culpepper might have done it.

FYI a few Vikings players are here in Iceland trying to lure Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson a.k.a The Mountain (Game of Thrones) to Minnesota.

Didn't like the way our first team looked, but Case Keenum looked decent for the second team. I wonder if Teddy will get any reps this preseason, kind of seems like he won't.

my guess is no, but we'll see. qb past this year is a big story that probably isn't talked about enough but that's just because there is way too much unknown

well it seems like the offense improved from the first game, not lighting the world on fire but wasn't bad

looks like we're going to miss patterson on kick returns

great depth on the dline though

I didn't see as much of the game as I would have liked. I heard the offensive line looked a lot better. I saw the big strike to Diggs.

well the starters did not look good

offense can't score and now apparently the defense can't communicate effectively (or at all)

someone tell me its only preseason and talk me off the edge

It's only preseason, wait at least until the first game before you get ready to jump.

Return to Minnesota Vikings
