Our starter situation is dire. Hopefully Happ comes back soon. I know I don't want to see Latos again, though, that much is certain.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Jose rep precedes him. Clipped didn't throw a strike but got two calls.

As your 6th guy Latos has done a good job filling in.

Won his 1st game for us then pitched 6 shutout innings in his 2nd game for us and would have won it for us if Osuna didnt blow it in the 9th with 2 outs. When 2 of your better pitchers are out and your 6th starter comes in a wins you a game and put you in a position to win 2 out of 3 then i think it was a success. Plus factor in that it was Latos vs Tanaka then i dont think anyone expected a win. Plus the Yankees have one of the best offenses in baseball.

There are a lot of empty seats every Yankees game, these days.

Remember when Yankees fans used to accuse Jays fans of being bandwagoners? Good times.

I think tickets at new Yankee Stadium are just too expensive for regular season baseball games. I went to a few games there in '09 and they were pretty expensive, and they're probably higher now. It's interesting though, because they always have high announced attendances, so I'm assuming the tickets are sold. Must be on the secondary market, or in the hands of businesses or something.

On StubHub, those tickets behind home plate are $350-$400. And half of them have been empty the entire series. John Oliver needs to start buying them up again and giving them away to people.

I think that was basically the price of regular lower bowl seats when I was there.

Their CEO (I think?) stated last year that they keep the prices high because they'd rather have those seats empty than having the peasants able to afford seats alongside the more important clientele.

Freaking peasants, ruining everything. They even have the gall to want healthcare!

I was wrong...it was the COO:

http://deadspin.com/yankees-coo-defends-new-ticketing-policy-like-a-true-ri-1759975895

“The problem below market at a certain point is that if you buy a ticket in a very premium location and pay a substantial amount of money. It’s not that we don’t want that fan to sell it, but that fan is sitting there having paid a substantial amount of money for a ticket and [another] fan picks it up for a buck-and-a-half and sits there, and it’s frustrating to the purchaser of the full amount.”

Trost then added a comment that raised eyebrows on social media because of its seemingly elitist undertones. “And quite frankly,” he said, “the fan may be someone who has never sat in a premium location. So that’s a frustration to our existing fan base.”

Note that they were then refusing to allow Stubhub, because fans could re-sell for whatever price they could get. Later, they instead partnered with Stubhub, but instituted a price floor of 50% of face, thus ensuring that those seats still remain empty.

Good to see Steve Pearce finally checked in to the season.

Running with Stroman struggling was particularly braindead.
