It's too bad that Fenercahce plays the Final Four at home. I never liked the Final Four, when one of the teams is playing at home. It totally wrecks the essence of how a Final Four is supposed to be.

Well, Olympiacos is playing in Euroleague final 4, so its a good excuse to jump in. Altho Olympiacos doesnt really play NBA-esque pretty basketball, team is athletic to the point, but is very defensive minded. Personally I love low scoring games, It feels like every point is so much more important, but I know a lot of NBA fans hate that, and often make fun of Euro hoops for its low scoring games.

Beside Olympiacos, there is its bitter rival Panathinakios. These two are the biggest rivals there is in sports. Panathinaikos is a very watchable team, I think they were the most athletic club in Europe this season.

Both of these teams play in the Euroleague and have rich history, Cant go wrong either way, it could come down to what color you like more, green or red?

The Antetokounmpo family are all huge Olympiacos fans. They are big fans of Olympiacos football (soccer) and basketball clubs.

So if you are an Antetokounmpo fan, Olympiacos should be your EuroLeague team.

The Antetokounmpo family are all huge Olympiacos fans. They are big fans of Olympiacos football (soccer) and basketball clubs.

So if you are an Antetokounmpo fan, Olympiacos should be your EuroLeague team.

I thought Giannis was huge Diamantidis fan tho. SO its kinda surprising he is OLy fan, not Pao.

Panathinaikos propaganda. The guy that owns Panathinaikos basketball club (and also owns basically the whole sports club, except the football team) also owns almost all of the sports media companies in Greece. I think they say something like 60% of all sports journalists in Greece are his employees.

In reality, Giannis said Diamantidis was one of the players he respected the most and looked up to. He never said anything about him being his idol or hero. That was just the typical nonsense that Panathinaikos media writes. Which they can, since the club owns most of the sports media. It's a really strange way they allow that in Greece. Can you imagine if like ESPN was allowed to own sports teams in USA?

Well Giannis is a basketball player so it is normal to appreciate good players like Diamantidis, but he was an Olympiakos fan

I can't wait for the next game. Šaras always has a plan against any opponent, and team start's to respond to that. Yesterday's win was exact prove. If not a "strange" reffing, that game should never be close. "Žalgiris" was always pressing Valensia full court, Valensia used to get to their offense most of the time with ~12 minutes left on the shot clock. It lead to the abysmal 4/27 (or something like that) three point shooting. And Šaras knows his players very well, tries to make them better (and succeeds for the most part), so he is not afraid to use 10 or more guys in the game.
C position is pretty weak, but upgrade is almost impossible, let's just hope that Kavaliauskas will get his stuff together. He is an excellent free throw shooter, just bang inside more, or take midrange jumper more often. And he needs to play positionally smart ball on D.
Oh well, good times. Team is getting better and more confident, feel each other better. Maybe Kuzminskas will come back, maybe some other big guy (DMo) will become available.
BTW, maybe you could help me out with the Euroleague's finances? Euros for victory, getting in the top 8 and so long? Just thinking about "Žalgiris" next season budget.

I just cant believe they let prospect Echodas go. That guy was so obviously good, by far my favorite player from that class. Their junior talent evaluation is very suspect to say the least. But their trio of Jankunas, Ulanovas and Pangos has been great.

On another topic, do you think Sarunas Jasikevcius could become an NBA coach some day? He is 41 years old now, and his coached team is the biggest surprise in Europe, the way he adapts after halftime is remarkable, and his English is pretty good considering.

Carry on. I just found one random crazy stat. Panathinaikos center Chris Singleton is shooting 49.1% from 3 this season, but only 29.2% from 2 this season, isn't that super weird?
