a team probably promise him a contract, otherwise, with he's recent injury, he will not opt out.

I changed my mind. lol

I want Riley to use his Jedi mind trick so that each of Dion, JJ, & Gay take $10 mill each, so we still have $7mill left.

Come on Riley. A few dead hourses head here & there & im sure you can get it done.

Some teams will do anything to get better. Gay wouldn't be the 1st non-star to get a big contract after coming back from a serious injury. Look at Wesley Matthews.

Maybe! But is the Heat the team that will give him that?
I still think Riley will go after with big names like Paul George (via trade) or Hayward.

-Re-sign JJ
-Keep Ellington
-Try to move up in the draft

I really want them to bring in some youth.

I'd like to see Jrich, Winslow, and the rookie grow with 1 or 2 more young guys. Try to build on the fly.

What is the goal for next year? I'd like to make the playoffs, but I think we're far from contending. I would prefer to sign James Johnson and Dion Waiters than entering the Melo or Hayward sweepstakes. Our team needs more time to develop. Richardson, Winslow, McGruder, Whiteside, and TJ will all be better next year. Plus we get a decent pick to add a PF.

Worst case scenario he gets the hell out of Sacramento, so he can't lose. And I think you'll be surprised at how much he gets. Maybe from us.

What is the least yearly you guys see Dion, & JJ resign for? I would say $15mill.

If Ellington resigned for more years at less $, & we were able to get rid of McBob, how much cap would we have?

The least? $12m to $13m each. The problem is the same as with Deng. Some team could throw so much money at either of them that they decide to take it.

If we didn't pick up Ellington's option and traded McBob away for nothing ... our total cap space could grow to as much as $43 million. How much we actually have depends on whether you add Ellington back at a lesser salary, or whether you sign Ellington with exception money.

I hope they liked it here enough to stay for a little less.

How do you guys think we can resign Dion, JJ, Reed, & keep Ellington while adding at least 1 rotation player? Hopefully someone that can fight for a starting spot at SF.
The more i see the math the less likely i believe it could happen. :(

Andy please find a way.

I suspect that a team like the Nets will offer Waiters a big bag of loot. James Johnson too, fwiw.

Can't imagine the Nets being an appealing destination after playing here though. Maybe if we don't come to the party, but I'd back us in.

Philly might be tempting for Dion though. Home town, up and coming team, and a clear hole at the 2 spot.

Dion will get a big offer and take it without a thought.

We'll get over it.

Has Beas been contacted by Riles yet?

Andy please find a way.

You want to keep all those guys AND add at least 1 rotation player? Can't be done unless the market for JJ and Waiters is weak. Basically you're asking JJ, Waiters, and Reed, to sign for a combined ~ $29 mil ... at which point we'd have our exception money to add a rotation player or two.

OK, lets try to work this out. We get Bosh cleared off our cap, and we renounce our Bird Rights to Haslem and Babbitt, and cut White.

That leaves us with 9 players:

$23,775,506 ... Whiteside
$17,000,000 ... Dragic
$6,270,000 ... Ellington
$6,021,175 ... McWhatever
$5,881,260 ... T. Johnson
$2,705,040 ... Winslow
$1,471,382 ... Richardson
$1,312,611 ... McGruder

+ $2,075,300 ... 14th pick in the draft

Total: $66,512,274

Salary cap: $101,000,000 ... projection

$101,000,000
- $66,512,274
------------------
$34,487,726 in available cap space ... not counting cap holds for JJ, Waiters & Reed (because those will be replaced by their new salaries).

That's more cap space than I thought we had.

So if JJ and Waiters each take a starting salary of $12 million ... that would leave $10 million for Reed.

If JJ and Waiters take starting salaries of $13 million ... that would leave $8 million for Read.

If JJ and Waiters take starting salaries of $14 million ... that would leave $6 million for Read.

So yes, it is possible to resign all three of them, and still have our exception money to add a rotation player or two.

Unless I screw up somewhere.

We could then double back and offer Haslem, Babbitt, and White, minimum salaries if we chose to.
