Probably because we are paying them a combined 60 million to underachieve on a last place team. All 3 are in various stages of decline.

They are in decline but they are not done. They will get hot at some point and over a long MLB season, they will generally give you more than the less talented guys who may be currently playing well but will fall off at some point

When pitchers are throwing 3-2 breaking balls to Jose again, you know he's back lol.

Take away the current injuries...Martin and Tulo might actually be worth their contracts.
I agree with Bautista being overpaid, but with 1WAR costing around $6-7million on the open market, Martin and Tulo are right there.

Tulo makes $20mil/year, and his WAR last year was 3.3, so he's actually paid market value.
Martin also makes $20mil/year and is already at 0.9WAR for the year, so well on his way to being paid market value.

Too lazy to check the stats, but Martin was definitely heating up at the plate during the last 10-12 games before he got injured. His OBP was pretty high too.

Wow. Really interesting to hear. Arash just mentioned on the broadcast that Gibby and Shatkins met with the Spurs front office and Popovich a few times during the year to get advice on running a sports team.

I hope that Spurs "Get better Everyday" banner they put up in the locker wasn't the only takeaway from that meeting. There's a lot to be learned from that organization about scouting/player management/instilling a winning culture.

Also, as for what Gibbons gained from that meeting? "Tim Duncan was a hell of a basketball player". Right.

How many infield hits have the mariners got the last couple days?

Don't really think that one should have been overturned based on they had

And more bad luck...

Really nice to have Maile out there to balance out the lineup.

Maile isn't an offensive dynamo, is he...
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Is it too much to ask for a backup catcher who can hit .200? IS IT?
